Ankita Asks :

1st of all thanks and cheers for such an awesome blog. I have been reading your blog for quite sometime now and commenting too sometimes. I am pretty much a novice when it comes to makeup but learning gradually as my engagement is scheduled next month. I have some queries:

1) Whenever I come out of bath and apply any sort of cream/lotion or foundation thereafter, my face starts sweating a lot. What should I do to avoid this? I have combination skin.

2) I am wearing a blue saree for my engagement. What kind of jewellery (color etc) and makeup should I use to go with my saree? I know too much of one color is strict no-no. Also, if you want to know my complexion, I would stay I use revlon photoready compact in shade ‘natural beige’ and shade 04 in lakme invisble finish. That should give you a fair idea.

Looking forward to your reply,

Thanks,
Ankita

  1. Ankita I face the same problem actually. I noticed that toner helps a lot in this case. so what i do is that right after the bath I tone my face , apply cream and then apply sunscreen ( and if required primer as well) . After that I condition my lips, do my eye makeup and at last I do my face makeup.this helps in absorbing my skin care. Also if required just pat your face with a tissue to get rid of any excess oil or sweat on your face . That has worked for me. Hope it does for you too. 🙂

        1. hey Rati and Nupur..yes..after reading so many posts on IMBB, i have started using a toner. I must say that has helped to a large extent :thanks: :thanks:

  2. i thinking using a blotting powder or primer is the best solution for facial sweating. 🙂 Also rub ur face with ice to avoid shine and natural facial oils..

  3. Thank you so much Rati for posting my query and many thanks to everyone on IMBB :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: One more question, what nail paint color would go with blue saree?

      1. Thanks Rati….its awesome to have found this blog :yahoo: :yahoo: I m thinking of lakme true wear nail color..that dark wala red…I just love red nail paint 🙂

  4. hi ankita…. cngratulations :rose: :victory2: :victory2:
i have been using this ben nye neutral set powder which controls oil and sweat a lot on my face. but i doubt u ll get it here in India. if u order online it will take time to arrive 😐
professional MUAs have a products like makeup sealers and primers which can control sweating.
    so i wud suggest you get a primer O:) O:) O:)

  5. toner…………..it has helped me Ankita….and I would also recommend blotting paper and a primer before applying foundation…………. O:) O:)

  6. Hi Ankita, I guess sweating also depends upon the climatic conditions of the city you are living in..for eg I face the same situation in summers in mumbai but when I am in Pune I dont face such sweating at all, this happens becoz of the extreme moisture present in the climate of your city…I agree with some point here..using a blotting tissue or mattifying powder will help a lot! I am currently using Essence Mattifying compact powder and its really good in oil control but unfortunately its not available in India…but there are other compact powders which are available here
Also for your engagement..the eye makeup would probably depend upon the colors present in your saree if you have golden work then go for golden/deep blue combo..but if you have silver work than my personal favorite combination would be blue smokey eye with silver as base :waytogo:
Also try to do the makeup beforehand and se what suits you well rather than doing on the engagement day itself..also dont forget to use a primer as it helps to keep oil in check!
See if you get kryolan brand products in your city..they have some real good concealers/foundations which are highly photogenic 🙂
Phew quite a long post from my side..but hope it helps :))
    Btw congratulations :yahoo:
