Hi IMBBians,

IMBB has been my constant companion for last one year. I haven’t bought a single thing without consulting IMBB.
Now, I need a big help. I am travelling to Paris this month for a 6-month assignment. I wear only traditional dresses like salwar, kurta. So, now I want to buy everything to pack for Paris. Please tell me the basic things required and the must-haves. As Paris is the fashion destination, I don’t want to look like an alien there. Please help.

  1. hi Lakshmi, Paris has amazed me with its fashion versatility. It truly doesn’t follows a rut or protocol. Whatever you feel you are comfortable in can be turned most fashionable. If Kurta is your comfort dress, do go ahead with it. You can try short Kurtas with trousers and jeans. Or can try indo-western tops instead of Kurtas. But would suggest you to try accessorizing. Throwing a scarf, trying a statement ring, experiment with some danglers or a chunky neck piece.. anything you think you can carry well will spice up your regular look to Parisian chic.. and do try some interesting make up. Paris is a place you can pull off any look undaunted. Being comfortable is the key to look stylish.. all the best.. have a nice trip!..

    1. Be comfortable with what you wear. Try long top with leggings and accessories a lot. You can also pack some long skirts and scarfs. Do carry 2 jackets one that is slightly warmer and one that is more thick and warm. In paris people hardly speak english and always keep a big bag with you for things like local map, metro map, umbrella etc.(beware of pick pockets) For make up girls always prefer simple make up- foundation, lip gloss, khol and blush.:)
All d best enjoy paris. And do eat chocolate banana crepes 🙂

  2. Thanks a lot Jomol for posting my question.
Thanks a ton everyone for all the suggestions. I am feeling much more confident now. *puchhi*
