How to ‘EAT’ Your Anti-Aging Regimen

Hi my beauties,
How much do you splurge on your skin care, especially on the ones which have anti-aging properties? You know you are hurting your pocket too much for the results you’re getting; they are slow and temporary with lots of side effects. I think, with that topical application of anti-aging product, we must include an ‘anti-aging diet’. When you eat healthy, your skin looks healthy. I am not stopping you from using all those expensive retinol serums, anti-aging night creams and all; I am here to introduce the world of super nutritious, skin friendly foods which will act as a catalyst to slow down the aging of your skin.
youthful skin

Pomegranate

The super fruit is ideal to stop those wrinkles and protect against sun damage. The juice of pomegranate seeds contains ellagic acid and punicalagin, which fight free radicals and preserve collagen respectively. A small bowl of pomegranate seeds everyday will make your skin look plump and smooth.

Spinach

spinach
This amazing green leaves contain phytonutrients, which are antioxidant compounds, helpful in creating a shield against damage caused to your skin by the sun. Presence of beta-carotene and lutein improve the elasticity of your skin. Three cups of spinach juice, thrice a week will save your skin from pigmentation caused by sun rays and repel sagging skin.

Green tea

We all know Green tea is a super drink. This non-caffeinated healthy brew is full of anti oxidants. Green tea has catechins which prevent hyper pigmentation and it has polyphenols, the antioxidants which combat free-radical damage and help in reversing the effects of aging like large pores, brown spots and fine lines. One cup of green tea, once a day is enough to start with. Don’t go for more than 3 cups a day. Excess of anything is bad.

Watermelon

Who doesn’t want a dewy glowing skin? For this, you need to include water melon in your diet. This yummy fruit has ample amount of vitamin C. It is also loaded with lycopene and potassium; water melon helps in regulating the balance of water and nutrients in the cells of your body.

Olive oil

Always add olive oil to your salad dressings; cook as much as you can in olive oil. Olive oil has monounsaturated fats in olive oil which lowers the rates of heart disease and cancer. It also contains polyphenols, which are very powerful anti aging antioxidants.

Strawberry

starwberries
Vitamin C is always present in anti-aging products and strawberries are such a yummy way to incorporate vitamin C in your anti-aging diet regime. A cup of strawberries will give 150 percent of the daily recommended amount of vitamin C, which will help in diminishing wrinkles and dryness of aging skin.

Tomato

Pigmentation of tomatoes is because of a carotenoid known as lycopene, that helps to keeping your skin smooth. Consuming high amounts of lycopene acts as a sunburn protectant. You can also get lycopene from carrots, guava and red peppers.

Beans

I know beans are not liked by most of us but they are the best anti-aging veggies out there. Beans are a great source of proteins and low in fat. They also have anthocyanin and isoflavones – which are anti ageing agents.
