Waxing is like a regular thing for us ladies. And, it doesn’t matter how much care you take while waxing or where you get yourself waxed, burn spots are quite common. You cannot escape from them. You can get burn spots even when you are waxing at your home or even at some premium salon. It can also be the case that your skin is so thin that it gets burned very easily.
Thus, how to deal with these burn spots post waxing? Well, here we are giving you some very easy tips and tricks which will help you to heal burn spots after waxing.
1. Cold Water
This is the immediate and easiest way to heal burn spots after waxing. What you can do is that, as soon as you get burn spots on your skin, just rush to a place where you have running cold water. Running cold water will immediately calm down your burns and the pain will also reduce and thus, there will be very few chances of burnt scars. If your skin is burnt at a place where applying running water couldn’t be possible like forehead or upper lips, then you can just apply a cloth dipped in cold water.
Dressing is extremely important if you have got a fresh burnt spot. Let your burnt spot air dry completely and post that cover it. You need to do a proper dressing of the burnt spot, so that any further infection or damage to the sensitive skin could be avoided. Cover your burnt skin with a dry and sterile bandage. You can also try to cover the burnt skin with a clean dressing.
Post cold water, let your skin air dry. Don’t rub it, you can pat it gently. And then, apply a moisturizer all over your burnt skin. Apply extremely lightly. This will make the burnt area moisturized and soft and thus reduces the chances of burnt scars or spots. You can try body lotions like Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Deep Moisture Comfort Balm. But, avoid the ones which are greasy else, they can cause irritation on your skin and further worsen the condition.
4. Cucumber Juice
We all know that cucumber juice is extremely cold and has skin lightening and healing properties. Thus, make juice out of a fresh cucumber and add some drops of fresh lemon juice to it. Thoroughly mix them together and dip a cotton ball in it and apply on the burnt spot gently. This will cool down your skin and also, prevents the formation of burn scars. Even if they are formed, this will calm them and gradually erase them down.
5. Witch Hazel Solution
Witch Hazel is a very strong liquid. Why don’t you dilute witch hazel with a little water and then, dip a small cotton ball into the solution. Apply the soaked cotton ball on the burnt spot. Witch Hazel has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and astringent properties. This is one of the best remedies for sensitive skin or places like upper lips also.
6. Organic Coconut Oil
As my grandma used to say, there is nothing better than organic coconut oil for your skin. Organic coconut oil helps to soothe your irritated and red skin. You can apply the organic coconut oil directly on your skin and you will notice that it will help to calm down and soothe the inflamed skin. The oil will also moisturize the skin and thus, the burnt spot will fall off eventually, even if it is a fresh burnt spot.
7. Essential Oils
How about using some essential oils on your skin? You can choose any essential oil of your choice. But, as per our advice, lavender oils like Aroma Magic Lavender oil or Kama Ayurveda Essential Oil lavender are the best to heal burnt skin. You can dilute the lavender oil with some other oils also and with a cotton ball, just apply it over your burnt skin. This will not give you a miraculous results, but with time, you will notice that the burn spots have healed. And, if you practice this everyday, then within 15-20 days your burn spots will be healed.
8. Sandalwood Powder
Why don’t you mix some sandalwood powder with rose water? This will give you a thick paste and then, apply this paste on the areas where you have got burn spots. You have to leave this paste overnight and then wash off with cold water in the morning. This is mostly done in the advanced stage of burnt spots in the skin. It is because, this remedy helps in treating the blackness around the burn spots.
9. Milk, Water and Ice
Make a cool compress of milk, water and ice. Mix all these in equal quantity and then dip a clean cloth into the bowl and wet the cloth with this mixture and apply it gently over the area where you have got burnt spots. This will constrict your blood vessels and reduces the swelling in due course of time. Also, milk will reduce the blackness which you might have got from the burnt wax.
10. Oatmeal Mask
Make a fine paste out of your grounded oatmeal and then, apply it all over your skin. This is a calming mask. Apply the oatmeal mask on the areas where your skin is red. This will reduce the redness and moisturizes the skin and very soon you will see that your skin will come back to its normal shape and look.
