Hello beauties ๐
I can never get enough of doing d.i yโs! There is a different satisfaction that I get when I use something that I have made myself! Since I have discovered beeswax I have realized how many things I can be making at home myself easily! Having dry skin, I use something or the other to moisturise my body everyday after shower. I have always liked using my Vaseline or Nivea moisturizers. However, the other day I read in an article how we are using โbottles of cancerโ every single day in our lives. That little article put me into deep thinking. Most of the products we use have parabens in them. Though they are present in small quantities, but using them over a long period of time surely contributes in exposing your body to harmful diseases. So please! Take a moment and take a look at the ingredients in your products. There are various natural and organic products now available in the market. Make the right choice so that you don’t regret tomorrow:) In this post, will be sharing a very simple d.i.y of how to make these lotion bars with just 2-3 ingredients.
Let’s see what you need-
1- 6 tbsp of Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
2- 1.5 tbsp of grated beeswax
3- (Optional) Essential oil. I have used Lavender oil here.
4- A silicon tray or an ice tray.
I wanted to keep the ingredients list as simple as possible, but if you want to make it very moisturising, maybe for your legs of elbows, add in castor oil and also slightly increase the quantity of beeswax.
Steps:
1- Gather all your ingredients. First off, take an old greater and grate the required amount of beeswax.
2- Using the double boiler method, melt your beeswax. Now add in your coconut oil to this whilst stirring continuously. Let the beeswax and coconut oil completely mix together. Now you can add in some drops of essential oil if you want to.
3- Let everything mix together extremely well. If you are using an ice tray, just use some oil to line your moulds beforehand. Now carefully take your bowl with the mixture in it and pour it half way through in each mould. Be quick with this step.
4- Let the tray sit outside for 10 minutes, then keep it in the freezer for 15 minutes.
5- Now that everything will be set very properly, just smack your tray from the back to remove your bars. Once you succeed, you got your lotion bars ready!
The bars are great to use ! Once they are out they slide on your skin so smoothly! It will moisturise your skin very well and make it healthy! The best way to use these is by using them on your hands after each time you wash them. These bars will repair and heal your skin with time. They smell great at the same time and can make a lovely gift too! Another thing I will recommend you girls to do is to use extra virgin oils to moisturise your skin on a daily basis! I am a live example! I have been using only pure oils to moisturise everyday, and now my skin feels so much better and repaired.
Hope you all try this recipe out. If you have any questions let me know in the comments. Hope you all have a lovely day! Take care.

Aww Sheetal! Thankyou so much ๐
These are gorgeous! I have a question. In the summer would these need to be stored in the fridge? Any chance of them melting or would they retain their shape?
Thank you Shikha ๐ yes refrigerating them during summer’s is what I would suggest, because when kept outside they won’t melt or loose their shape, but definitely the surface on which you’ll keep it can get greasy and if it’s pretty hot they might become very soft and hence create a mess!
awesome! I had made these as well… thanks for the reminder ! :))
Great to hear that Vidhi! Enjoy making them again :):)
