How To Make Sea Salt Spray For Beachy Waves

How To Make Sea Salt Spray For Beachy Waves

Monsoons seems to have finally set all over and I am so grateful for the few showers that we are having. In a few days, we will all start missing the sun, won’t we? I love beaches, who doesn’t? During my stay in Kozhikode, I had lots of fun playing in the sea at Kapad beach, it’s an uncrowded beach with beautiful waves and sand.  And I love the texture and waves that sea water and air adds to my hair – tousled, wavy, and feminine.  If you like that kind of hair, you can use salt sea sprays, but in India, it’s really difficult to find such sprays off the shelves. But then, you can make your own with easily available stuff at home, interesting, right? You can get beachy wavy hair texture with this DIY I am going to show you. This hair spray creates and adds texture to the hair, lifts up the volume, and gives you gorgeous, carefree, tousled, loose waves. All you have to do is to spray it on either damp or dry hair, scrunch your hair a bit, and let it air dry. Do not comb through the waves, just run your fingers through, and you would have lovely, loose, beach waves. Try it and tell me whether you liked it or not? Here we go:

Ingredients Needed:

Sea salt spray

  • 1 cup hot water (distilled).
  • 1 spoonful of epsom salt or sea salt.
  • 1 spoonful of hair conditioner.
  • 3 vitamin E capsules (optional).
  • A few drops of pure almond oil.
  • Spray bottle.

Procedure:

Take a cup of distilled water and warm it up a bit.

Sea salt spray

It should not be boiling hot, just warm enough so that the sea salt or epsom salt dissolves well. Add in the epsom salt or sea salt. Mix well so that the salt completely dissolves into the water.

Squeeze in a full spoonful of hair conditioner and mix well. I have used Sunsilk conditioner.

Since salt can suck out moisture from hair, you would need to add some moisturizing ingredients, I have added a few drops of pure almond oil and three vitamin E capsules.

Pour this mixture into an empty spray bottle and shake everything well.

You would need to shake it each time before use. That’s it, your sea salt hair spray to create beachy waves is ready. Just spray it on your hair and run your fingers through your hair, I am sure would love the tousled and loose waves in your hair.

    1. Gargi, hmmmm….it creates a different texture, if you use it regularly, it sucks up moisture from the hair….however, your hair would feel still feel the same after you wash it off.
