  1. Start using castor oil. You can use it with any carrier oil like coconut or mustard oil. You need a very small quantity of castor oil as it is EXTREMELY greasy. Mix the oils and oil your hair well. Also, start taking hot towel steam. Your pores might be closed and therefore do not grow much. With this towel technique, your pores will open making your scalp absorb more oil and reap the benefits. To make your hair healthy, u can make a hairmask with 2 egg, 1 bowl hung curd, 2 avocados, 1 tsp of any conditioner and 1 tsp honey. Mix all the ingredients well and apply on clean hair for 3-4 hours. You will have really shiny and healthy looking hair in the first wash itself. Hope I helped 🙂

  2. Palak, lot of factors play their role in growth of hair. But here are some basic pointers you need to follow on day to day basis meticulously if you wanna see any improvement in the health of hair.

    1. Limit shampooing to max twice a week. Not more than that.
    2. No chemical treatments, heat or harsh handling. Treat hair like fine silk.
    3. Only air dry and if you have to use dryer use cold setting.
    4. No combing hard while hair is wet.
    5. No SLS in shampoos. Don’t use conditioners which don’t provide needed moisture or even those which make hair overly greasy and weigh it down.
    6. Scalp should be healthy, free of dirt and dandruff. For this use hair packs which suit your scalp and hair.
    7. Regular oil massage improves blood circulation.
    8. Vitamins -use them regularly. Eat protein rich diet and drink loads of water.
    9. Sleep on satin pillow covers. This avoids breakage of fine hair.

Just my 2 cents 🙂 Hope this helps.

  4. Hi Palak,

I’m obsessed with long hair and thankfully I have thigh length hair now 😉
Here are the tips\suggestions I can give you based on my personal experience! if you are allergic to any of the items I mention then please ignore it 🙂

Firstly, make sure you don’t have any genetic disorders like PCOD\PCOS.
Ensure to take multivitamins that would help keep your hair, nails and skin healthy from within. Best method – consult a doctor and get it prescribed.
Choose a shampoo (and\or) conditioner based on your hair type. Investing a bit high isn’t bad when it comes to preserving the health of your hair 🙂 Never shampoo your hair more than twice a week.

Coming to the basic or important steps:
Trim you hair atleast once a month to avoid split ends that stops hair growth.

Oil your hair atleast everytime before you wash your hair.
I mix coconut oil, olive oil, castor oil, almond oil, neem oil (very little), kesavardhini and amla oil (the proportion depends on purely your choice except for neem oil as it smells worse 🙁 ) You can warm up the oil mixture and apply or apply directly after mixing. Massage your scalp with the oil well. To avoid too much of hairfall better comb your hair before applying the oil mixture. Initial use leads to bit of hairfall which reduces gradually after repetitive usages. You can cover up with hot towel if you wish to. Let the mixture soak in your hair (min time 20 mins and max time even 4-5 hours 😛 ) Wash it off with your favourite shampoo.
Caution: Do not use this more than once a week. For second wash you can choose any one of the oils among coconut\olive\almond.
My hair grew almost 6 inches in 5-6 months after following this.

    Happy hair growth therapy 😀
