Monsoons are here and we enjoy the pitter patter of this season. Monsoon remains the perfect season to explore the hidden corners or simply hog to any exotic place nearby. Monsoon preaches you to keep your makeup at the minimum and also calls for choosing your outfits carefully. I would say that monsoon is the best season to accessorize at the maximum so that you can cover up your short dresses while complimenting your overall look. How to carry your jewellery while travelling remains a head scratcher for many. So here are a few tricks to carry your favorite jewels while travelling especially in monsoons.
1. Plastic straws
Plastic straws can be used to keep your chain or necklaces in place. Avoid getting them tangled by just stringing your chain through a firm plastic straw. If you have thin chains, one straw can accommodate 2-3 chains easily.
2. The button saver
Have you ever thought that a simple button, which you keep losing every time, can be an earring holder too? Those two holes in your button can be used as an earring holder and you will find the pair easily when you need them. While travelling, we usually misplace an earring while this way, you can find both the earrings together whenever you want.
3. Pills cases
You get seven day pills cases easily; you can store your earring in each box according to your schedule. You can also store them according to the day mentioned on the case!
4. Travel towel
Travel towels are mostly small in size so you can stuff your entire jewellery collection in the towel. Hold the corners from both the ends and then tie them with a rubber band. Rubber band will ensure that your jewellery stays in place while you travel.
5. Match box
You can store your pearl jewelleries in a match box. Avoid storing pearl jewellery with rest of your accessories as they are the most delicate and bound to lose their shine. Remove all the match sticks and put the pearl piece in your match box. If you feel the match box is a bit loose, tie it with a rubber band.
6. Jewellery Organiser
If you don’t want to do it yourself, you can even buy a good jewellery organiser from market. This will ensure that your jewellery is safe and in place. There is a variety of jewellery organiser available in the market, so choose according to your need.
7. Pouch them
This is the most vintage and cool idea to store your jewellery while travelling. Sack all your jewellery and put in a pouch. Ensure you pull the string tight, so that it does not open.
8. Toilet paper roll
If you don’t have a toilet paper roll you may cut half a foil paper roll to keep your jewellery. Insert the necklace from both the sides and put your bangles or bracelets on the roll.
Things to keep in mind:
• If you have decided to travel through airways, minimise your jewellery.
• Decide what you are going to wear and try to carry the jewellery you will need.
• Clean them and prepare them before you pack them.
• Carry extra ear screws or rubber in case if you happen to lose any.
