Shampoo Loaded with Sulphates
Yes, shampoos loaded with sulphates are going to be your best friend in this situation. You will not see the effect in just one wash, though. But keep trying and trying. It could make your hair dry like a straw but you will eventually achieve the results.
Dandruff Shampoo and Baking Soda
An anti-dandruff shampoo is what people should look for when trying to remove permanent hair dye from hair. Anti-dandruff shampoo removes the upper layer of your scalp, and that’s why it is very effective against permanent hair dyes. Also, note that you need baking soda, not baking powder for this method. Mix both of the ingredients in equal quantity and then apply on your hair. You will get the desired results with just 1-2 wash.
Vinegar
Here, you need to use white vinegar and not apple cider vinegar. You need to mix an equal portion of white vinegar and water and then apply the mixture on your hair. Keep the mixture on your hair and cover your hair with a shower cap. Later, wash your hair as usual after 15-20 minutes. Try this mixture 3-4 times and you will start noticing the difference.
Colour Removers
There are two types of colour removers available in the market: colour strippers and colour reducers. Colour strippers are very similar to bleach and they are known for stripping the natural oils from your hair. But when you use colour reducers, the effect is more visible. Colour reducers have no effect on your real hair colour as they reduce only artificial pigments.

This is mostly used for blonde hair. When you want to remove permanent colour from your blonde hair this high lift blonde dye comes in very handy. It works well on fresh as well as old blonde color.

Hair dye remover is a fab and less damaging way of removing permanent dye from your hair. It does not make your hair dry and coarse. But the point is that hair dye remover does not work on all hair types. So, it’s more like a trial and error.
Bath Salts
Bath salts are a great way to remove permanent hair colour, but of course, they strip away the moisture from your hair strands. Just dip your hair in a bathtub loaded with bath salt and water and keep it in that position for as long as you can. You will see a reduction in your hair dye by the time you remove your hair from the tub.
Honey and Cinnamon
Honey and cinnamon can act as a fab bleaching combo. Since they are 100% natural they won’t damage your hair a lot. So just crush 2-3 cinnamon sticks and add this powder to honey. Apply this mixture on your hair and keep it on for 15-20 minutes. Wash it off as usual. You’ll start seeing difference in your hair color after 4-5 sessions.
Hot Water Bath
Wash your hair with hot water. Gently massage your hair twice to thrice with hot water. Even though hot water isn’t really great for your hair and might lead to issues like hair fall and dryness, it is quite effective when it comes to removal of hair dyes.

If you’re not happy with your current hair dye, seek professional help. This is a way to alter or remove hair dyes without affecting the health of your hair. This method might cost you a bit but at least you won’t end up losing the health of your hair.
