We all know water is very essential for our health, body and beauty. We need almost 3 liters of water per day to drain out the toxic substances from our body and keep system fit. There are many women around me who do not drink even 2 glasses of water in an entire day and suffer from constipation, headache, dehydration, dry skin and hair. They all are aware about water benefits but can not adopt the habit to drink water due to its taste, forgetfulness or nauseatic sensation. So, here I am giving you some easy tips on how to trick yourself into drinking more water every day.
Include It In Your Daily Routine:
Make a schedule of drinking water just after you wake up, before the breakfast, during travelling and as soon as you reach office. For e.g. you can place a glass of water near to bed to remind yourself. I know it might be difficult in the initial period, but once you honestly make this a habit, it will remain with you always.
Take Small Sips of Water:
Some people complain that whole glass of water at a time gives them vomiting sensation. So, to avoid this, try having small sips of water and wait for two seconds before taking the second sip.
Get A Decent Water Bottle:
Water bottle is a brilliant way to increase your water intake. Buy some pretty water bottle which will attract you and hook you to drinking water, as we all know how good packaging can attract us. Make sure the quality of the bottle is fine. A good stainless steel or heavy duty plastic bottle should do the trick. There are many options of water bottles available in market; choose the one that attracts you most.
Always Carry A Water Bottle:
Make a habit of carrying a water bottle with you whenever you go outside to remember having to drink water. Again, take small sips during the entire journey which can help you finish at least one bottle of water.
Mark Water Bottle With Time Oriented Goal:
You can create a schedule based on drinking goals and mark it on the bottle. Get some marker or tape and start marking how much water you would like to drink by a certain time every day! This trick will actually motivate you to drink water throughout the day. You will also get to know whether you are doing it good or not.
Add Fun Flavours In Water:
You do not like the taste of water? Okay, no worries! Why not add some flavor to it? Yes, you can enhance the taste of water by infusing it with ginger, lemon, and cucumber. You can find various anti bloating water recipes already posted on IMBB. Select one from them. If you do not have time for this, then simply add some ‘Tang’ or flavored ‘Glucon-D’. You will get numerous nutrients from this flavoured water.
Set A Reminder Or Create Mental Alarm:
If you are still have a hard time remembering drinking water, then set an alarm on your phone. Create few alarms from certain time span throughout the day, so that you can remind yourself about drinking a glass of water. You can also set some mental alarm like when you are feeling sleepy, drink a glass of water. When you are feeling hungry, drink a glass of water. You will not know initially but these mental alarms will turn into a habit of drinking water.
Make It A Game:
To motivate yourself, you can make it a game. Reward yourself when you follow the whole water drinking schedule. Punish yourself when you did not follow it, like you will not check out your social media profile that day. This trick sounds funny, but it will actually help you incorporate this healthy habit.
Take Help From Your Friends And Colleagues:
Tell your friends and colleagues about your water drinking goal and let them remind you. Continuous nagging of people around you makes you more honest about your goal.
Regularly Read The Benefits Of Water:
Last but not the least, read at least two benefits of drinking water every day so that your mind will start accepting the positive aspects of water drinking.
