Hello Beautiful Ladies,
We do know that Lipsticks are not just limited to giving you a beautiful pout but it can be used in a wide variety of ways. Many of you would know that recently there was a craze all over the internet, regarding using a red lipstick as a concealer. I tried it too and it gave amazing results and today I shall let you know on how to use it so that a Red Lipstick can eliminate the use of a an orange or corrective concealer!
Things you need:
A Red shade of lipstick
Foundation/CC Cream/BB cream
Blender (optional)
How to apply:
I found out that a red lipstick can be used, but when I used a bright red lipstick, it did not give me the desired results ; then I experimented with a few shades of red, hence the results showed up.
I have a wheatish skin tone and shadows of dark circles under my eye. I had picked up a lipstick tester pack from Amway and I used the red in that pack, as I didn’t want to experiment with my costly and close to heart lipsticks 😛
Steps:
1. Apply the lipstick under the eye in a curve shape. You can also use them above your eye lid if they are dark or you can just blend it all over. I have used Red Kiss from Amway.
2. Dab some foundation cream on it. I used a Lakme CC cream as I do not use a compact later; I wanted to keep it minimal that way.
3. Blend it in a downward pressing motion. Concentrate it under the eye and move it over and around the area. I used my fingers for blending as I am comfortable that way, but a blender or buffing brush does the job too.
Tip: Do not blend sideways as it gives a very cakey and an artificial finish. Focus on the target area only.
4. Voilaa!! Here is how it looks. You can see the difference between my right and left eye. I have tried it on the eye with the kajal on.
5. You can dab some loose powder if you need to set it.
How to choose the right shade of Lipstick:
Fairer skin tones: The ladies with this skin tone are blessed, as you can use any shade of red lipstick and it gives you perfect results. But do not use a bright red as there could be chances that you would look a little red around the eyes, if it is not blended properly.
Medium/Wheatish skin tones: A normal red lipstick to a little pinkish fuchsia does justice to your under eyes. I tried a bright red tone, but I felt it made my eye look little swollen and it looked artificial.
Dark tones: You can use a true red, or a bright red and it makes you look fab. Pinkish tones do not work great on these skin tones.
You can use lipsticks for small coverage even on your face. It reduces the bags under the eye, reduces some fine lines and covers up the dark circles. It also gives a red cast above your eye and makes it look like you have applied an eye shadow. Do try this and let me know.
