I am back with another awesome post for everyone! Today, we would be talking about how to use heat protection sprays. Using a heat protection spray is important while you style your hair or do flat-ironing. Heat protection sprays not only help to hold your hairstyle for a long period of time but also protect your hair from damage caused due to heat. It gives you the best results without causing any damage to your tresses.
So, here is how to use a heat protection spray.
1. Keep Your Hair Clean:
The first and most important step is to make sure that you keep your hair clean and conditioned. You should use a good shampoo and conditioner so that it deep cleanses your scalp and also leaves you with nourished hair. Rinse off with cold water several times so that there is no shampoo or conditioner residue left. Rinsing your hair with cold water makes sure that your hair does not lose moisture.
2. Dry Your Hair:
Do not use a blow dryer to dry your hair. Instead, leave your hair open so that your hair dries under natural hair. Using blow dryer can leave you with dry and frizzy hair. You should never apply heat protection spray on wet hair and hence make sure your tresses are dried completely.
3. Comb Your Hair And Section Them:
Using a wide tooth comb detangle your hair. Now divide your hair into small sections so that you can apply the heat protection spray properly. Take one section and apply heat protection spray on it. Make sure you hold the spray atleast 15 cm away from the hair. If you have thick hair, apply extra protection spray. Women with thin hair should avoid applying too much.
4. Cover The Scalp:
Once you have completed applying heat protection spray on one section, you can continue similarly with the other sections. The hair will be a little wet while doing so. So you need to wait for atleast 5 minutes so that it dries completely. This will act as a barrier between your hair and styling tool. Make sure you apply protection spray properly so that it holds the style for a longer period of time and prevents heat damage.
5. Blow Dry Your Hair:
If you are in hurry, you can also use a blow dryer to dry your hair. Avoid using a round brush, instead use a paddle brush to dry your hair using a blow dryer. This will help to remove the knots and leave you with straight hair. You should use a blow dryer on cool setting to dry your hair quickly. Cold air will help to set your hair soon.
6. Divide Your Hair To Straighten Them:
If you want to straighten your hair, divide them into different sections. Separate them into atleast three different sections and use a hair straightener to straighten them. Divide the sections, straighten them and secure the rest with a clip. Do not hold the straightener on hair for a long time as it may burn the hair. Use straightener on low setting in order to prevent any damage to the hair.
7. Use Hairspray:
Now use a hairspray to set the hairstyle. Use the hairspray on the hair with cool setting on the hair style to set the hair and prevent any damage.
