how to do facial waxing

1. Choose The Facial Wax:

The first important step is to choose the right type of facial wax according to your skin. Facial wax is easily available in stores and generally come in a kit. The kit also contains waxing strips and an applicator which is required while waxing your facial hair. Facial wax is specially designed for the face and hence it is generally mild and non-irritating in nature. You can use Sally Hansen Microwavable Eyebrow, Face and Lip Wax for best results.

2. Pick The Right One For Yourself:

Because you will be waxing your face, you need to be very cautious while picking up the right type of wax for yourself. For people who have sensitive skin should opt for a wax which contains aloe vera in it. Ladies with dry skin can go for wax which contains hydrating elements like jojoba oil, shea butter, olive oil etc. People with oily skin should get wax which comes with a mark “specially made for oily skin”

3. Now Wash Your Face:

Before you start waxing your face, it is important to clean your face with a cleanser. Do not exfoliate your skin before waxing as it may lead to breakouts on the skin, making the process quite difficult to do. Keeping your face clean can reduce the chance of breakouts or blemishes. Prep your skin well before waxing and do not leave it dry.

4. Check The Length Of The Hair:

Now closely observe the hair on your face and trim those which are too long. Generally, hair with more than 2 cm length should be trimmed as it becomes quite difficult while pulling the hair using the wax strip. So do not pluck, thread or tweeze smaller hair as it can lead to ingrown hair problem. Allow the hair to grow properly and make sure they are of the same length.

5. Pamper With Baby Powder:

Just like we apply baby powder before threading the eyebrow, you should apply some on the face before waxing. Baby powder helps to remove the hair from the face easily and also prevents any irritation caused due to wax. Baby powder is a naturally soothing ingredient which can make the process of waxing easy and relatively painless.

6. Warm The Wax:

Now warm the loose wax and wait for some time. Make sure that the wax is not too hot, as it may burn your skin burns, cause skin inflammation and irritation as well. The wax should be warm enough so that it spreads on the face easily but not so hot that it burns the skin. If you are using wax strips, you can slightly warm it by rubbing it between your palms for a few minutes.

7. Now Start Application:

Once the wax is warm, start spreading the wax on the skin using the applicator stick. Now press the strip of the wax using your fingers to make sure that it holds the tiny hairs well. Now wait for few seconds and peel off the strip in the opposite direction of hair growth. Double check and repeat again until you get a smooth hair-free skin.

8. Now Soothe The Skin:

Once you have removed the hair from the face properly, it’s time to pamper your skin. Because the skin on the face is sensitive, you may observe slight redness and inflammation on the skin. Take a cool cloth and press on your skin for some time. You can also give a quick ice massage. You can use the Beauty Formulas Organic Aloe Vera Gel to soothe the skin.

9. Moisturiser Now:

Once you are done with this, you should moisturize your skin so that it is not left irritated or inflamed. You should always use moisturizers with natural shea butter or aloe vera extract in it. If not, you can apply frozen aloe vera gel to soothe the skin. Try the Khadi Herbal Moisturizer Rose and Honey for best results.
