I’m back with another post! Today, we would discuss ways to wash or oil your hair after rebonding. Rebonding is one among the commonly available treatments which can help to give you smooth, silky and straight hair. Rebonding of hair is generally done in parlors which majorly involves using rebonding creams. However, before opting for hair rebonding procedure, you should surely know how to take care of hair post the treatment. One among the major concerns when it comes to rebonding of hair is how you should wash or oil it. So, here we bring you an appropriate answer to the question.
Washing or Oiling Hair after Rebonding
1. Use the right type of shampoo:
Using the right type of shampoo is the most important step when it comes to taking care of rebonded hair. Using shampoos that are specially designed for rebonded hair can help to keep your hair straight for a longer period of time and also prevent damage. Here are some of the best shampoos for rebonded hair: Crabtree and Evelyn La Source Volumising Seaweed Shampoo, Garnier Whole Blends Color Care Shampoo with Argan Oil and Cranberry Extracts, Matrix Opti.Care Smoothing Shampoo.
2. Do not shampoo for three days:
You should not use shampoo for at least three days after you have opted for rebonding treatment. You should allow the rebonding cream to penetrate deep into the roots and also nourish the hair follicles deeply. Washing your hair soon after hair rebonding can damage your hair and this will not give you the best results. Always use shampoo and conditioner only 3-4 days after hair rebonding.
3. Always use cold water for washing hair:
Another important thing you should consider while washing hair after rebonding treatment is using cold water. Cold water can help to wash off the rebonding cream left behind on the hair and scalp. Using hot or lukewarm water can lead to frizz on the hair and also may damage your follicles to a larger extent. So, always use cold water while washing rebonded hair.
4. A conditioner is a must:
Apart from choosing the right type of shampoo, using a conditioner is a must. Conditioner helps to restore hydration on the scalp and also help to maintain pH level. You should invest in seriously some good conditioner as it is important to keep your hair healthy. Use Crabtree and Evelyn La Source Revitalising Seaweed Conditioner or Dove Environmental Defence Conditioner.
5. Always use a wide tooth comb after hair wash:
After washing your hair, you should always use a wide tooth comb to cut down the frizz and also remove the unwanted knots from the hair. Using wide tooth comb will make sure that you don’t damage your hair and also keep it straight all the time.
6. Using clarifying shampoo:
This is not compulsory but using clarifying shampoo is preferred as it can help to clear the residue on the scalp. Also, using clarifying shampoo can help to remove the left over shampoo or conditioner on the scalp.
7. Use coconut oil and olive oil mixture:
Oiling your hair regularly is another important way to pamper your hair and also take care of your hair after rebonding. Coconut oil contains fatty acids which nourish the scalp and hair deeply while olive oil helps to prevent any infection on the scalp. Also, using coconut oil and olive oil mixture can help boost hair growth.
8. Egg and oil mixture:
Another great way to oil your hair is opting for egg and oil mixture. Take one egg and collect the egg yolk. Take coconut oil and add an egg yolk to it and mix together. Apply the mixture on the scalp and leave it for an hour. Wash off with lukewarm water. This is an easy way to oil your hair and also provide nourishment to it.
