Illamasqua Blush in Hussy Review

Illamasqua Blush in Hussy Review

Dear Beauties,

Today, I am going to review my very first pink blush which I love to death! Its Illamasqua Blush in Hussy. Illamasqua products have always created a big hype and all makeup enthusiasts want to get their hands on them. After my not-so-good experience with their masquara, honestly I was not sure what to expect, but this blush seriously took me by surprise. So, let’s find out more about it, shall we?

Illamasqua Blush in Hussy Review

Illamasqua products always had that historical and artistic feel to it and this blush is no different. I love the packaging, it comes in a black case and has that classy feel to it. Its sleek and elegant and makes me feel special. The black case is beautiful and very sturdy. It shuts tights so you can easily take it around with you while travelling. To be honest, its quite tight and some times, I have to put in a bit more effort to open it.  The case has “Illamasqua” written right at the opening.

My Experience with Illamasqua Blush in Hussy:

This is my first pink blush ever and I am in head over love with it. The first time I swatched it, I was super impressed by the pigmentation and texture of the blush. I don’t own a lot of blushes actually, just about 5 I think, including this one and none of the MAC blushes, so cannot compare with MAC, but it has incredibly smooth and buttery feel to it! The texture is very finely milled and goes on smoothly on the skin without making it look patchy.

Its a completely matte blush, so very apt for day time wear. The pigmentation is just AWESOME! Seriously, you just need one swipe and you get loads of color. This is one of those blushes you have to use with a very light hand or else it can make you look like a clown! But if used with light hand, it just gives that amazing glow to your face.

The color is a beautiful peachy pink, more towards pink, and I think it would suit all skin tones. I have even used this blush as an eyeshadow and it works amazingly well.  So, this is a multi-purpose product!

The staying powder is amazing due to its high pigmentation. It stays for 4 to 6 hours on me easily. The only con I find is that its very expensive! It retails for 16 pounds I think which is quite expensive according to me, though we get a lot of product, i.e., 4.5 gms of product in the pan.  Still, I don’t feel it justifies such a steep price.

The swatches below are taken in day light and its only swiped once. See for yourself how amazingly pigmented it is!

Pros of Illamasqua Blush in Hussy:

  • Beautiful candy pink color.
  • Extremely finely milled texture.
  • Goes on to the skin buttery smooth without being patchy.
  • Due to the fine texture, its easy to blend.
  • The staying power is awesome.
  • Extremely high pigmentation, just one swipe is enough.
  • Easily available online on the company’s website, Illamasqua ships worldwide.
  • Can be used as an eyeshadow too 🙂

Cons of Illamasqua Blush in Hussy:

  • Very expensive.
  • Its only available through Illamasqua website.
  • Though not exactly a con, but one needs to be careful to use it with a light hand, otherwise, it can make you look like a clown.

Price:

16 pounds.

IMBB Rating:

4/5.

Do I Recommend Illamasqua Blush in Hussy?

Absolutely yes, if you can afford it, but seriously, I would not buy it again as I truly feel its quite expensive and we can find similar products in less expensive brands like MAC, Inglot, etc., but if you can afford it or just want to try one product from Illamasqua, definitely give it a go as its an amazing product.

Hope this review was helpful, until tomorrow, stay beautiful 🙂

  1. Parita, illamasqua blushes are fabulous. I have used one longgg back. 🙂 I love this color. It looks super fresh and something you can wear so easily every single day. Reminds me of mac dollymix in some ways. 🙂

    1. Rati what would be the diffrence between this one and dollymix? Iv always wanted a colour like this. If its super similar to dolly mix then ill pick that up as its more easily avaiable than illamasqua for me

  4. Illamasqua have the nicest cream blushers! For a cheaper option you guys should try the topshop cream blushers :). I have been loving them so far, I wouldn’t call it a dupe coz topshop doesn’t have a wide range of colours but the texture is good and the blushers are quite pigmented.
Also guys check out the sale on the illamasqua website 🙂

  5. For people in India, you guys can shop on asos it does world wide delivery and they stock Illamasqua products. Happy times 🙂
