Today, I will be reviewing Illamasqua Masquara in Raven. I got this last December and I have been using it since then and now its almost over 🙂 So, its ready for review! I threw away the outer box carton by mistake, sorry for that. They have purposefully named their mascara as “masquara,” I kind of like the sound of it 🙂
If the eyes are the windows of the soul, Illamasqua Masquara in Raven reveals a heart of darkness with a formula that lengthens, defines and dramatises lashes to extremes.
Masquara, has swiftly become the new hot product on everyone’s lashes and now you can discover its “wonderbra-like” qualities for yourself.
“Wow factor! It lifts my lashes as well as curls them… a Wonderbra-like effect on my lashes.” Ace Your Face

My Take on Illamasqua Masquara in Raven:
The mascara comes in a black box and has the list of ingredients printed on it. The color “Raven” is jet matte black. The texture of mascara is creamy and not too runny. The brush is quite big as you can see and well it does work perfectly for upper lashes but for lower lashes I feel it does not work at all!
One coat is sufficient to give that natural look. This mascara gives length but not much volume. Also, it tends to clump, so one has to take effort to re-coat to make sure there are no clumps.
Also, if you notice, it does not help in separating the eyelashes much.
Pros of Illamasqua Masquara in Raven:
- Jet matte black color.
- Gives nice length to your eyelashes.
- The brush is big and perfect for upper lashes.
- The mascara is not waterproof which is the way I prefer as its easier to remove.
- The quantity is pretty decent, 10 ml will last really long.
Cons of Illamasqua Masquara in Raven:
- It tends to clump.
- Does not give enough volume.
- My eyelashes feel a little stiff which I dislike.
- Does not separate the lashes.
- Very expensive!
- Not available in India.
15 GBP for 10 ml.
Do I Recommend Illamasqua Masquara in Raven?
Nope! Its insanely expensive and does not give me much volume plus it tends to clump. We have better mascaras in India!
Hope this review was helpful, until tomorrow, take care!
