Hi, I have been a silent reader of IMBB for the past few months.
This is the saree I wore for my reception. The photographer made me and my husband stand/sit in different poses around midnight after the reception got over, and we were tired at the end of it all.
I bought this saree directly from a co-operative society shop at Kancheepuram. It cost me Rs.11,000.

Thanks, Varshini!
meera welcome to IMBB. Quite a heavy saree to pull off and you are doing total justice to it. :))
Thanks Rati. This is my first post on IMBB and you won’t believe the number of times I kept refreshing the page to see if my entry was posted 😀
And, being quite heavy myself – the saree was easy to pull off 😉
loll!! bt you are pulling it off quite nicely.. I find it impossible to pull off a silk saree. Glad to have you here. :))
My wedding was the last time I ever wore a silk saree (or a saree for that matter!). It was 6 years back. And I keep telling everyone, the next time I wear a saree would be for my daughter’s wedding. BTW, she is only 6 now 😉
I am badly in need of suggestions on how to convert my sarees to salwar kameezes 🙂
Please don’t cut your Kanchipurams to salwar suits, any other saree may be, not them..they keep for years and you never know….you might change your mind…salwar suits however have a short wearable life..
Keep your wedding sarees for memories, other sarees you can try cutting the pallus if they’ve beautiful borders and frame them to make it beautiful wall decor, and them remaining material give it to any tailor to stitch it as a dress for your daughter.
Its such a beautiful Kanchipuram…I am totally lusting after it.. :vampire:
Beautiful Saree & I love Gajraas. :woot: :woot: …they have a Beautiful fragrance.. :worship: :worship:
Hi Meera….wonderful saree and a great “Nilambari” pose….now I know why Illayaraja is afraid of you! :p
