Incolor Concealer Review

INCOLOR CONCEALER

Under eye circles, patchy skin and slightly pigmentation around my lips make me look tired and sick. I desperately needed a concealer. I was at the end of my shopping spree and I did not have enough much money to shell out for a concealer but then I remembered about the concealer from the company INCOLOR that my friend had bought earlier this month. So I bought it once I heard about how good it was from my friend and found one that matched my skin.

About the product:
Incolor Smooth Overtime base concealer.
Oil free with long lasting effect for Professional Make Up Artist.
They do not have names for their colors but numbers. The shade I am using is code 03.
Stop use if skin irritation appears.

In Colour COncealer

Ingredients:
Ozokerite, Cera Alba, Ethylhexyl palmitate, paraffinum liquidum, isopropyl myristate, petrolatum, propylparaben, BHT, mica, pigment (+/- CI77891, CI77491, CI77492, CI77499)

It is in a twist up tube, similar to our lipsticks.
I applied it using my finger, I do not have any makeup brushes yet . 🙁

MY EXPERIENCE: It was my friend’s wedding the very next day. Kerala weddings take place in the morning and instead of a dinner, you have lunch at the wedding ‘party’. So now because it was my best friend’s wedding I stayed with her throughout the day. I got great compliments about how fresh I looked :cute:. My friends obviously knew I had applied makeup, but they admired the fact that it seemed so natural. So was happy that I brought the concealer because that’s the only thing that was different on my face that day.

By the end of the wedding, that is, about 4 hrs after I first applied the makeup, the area around my eyes and lips started burning. I was busy enjoying with my friends :jiggy1: so, just ignored it. Friends started noticing dryness at certain spots. By the end of the day when I came home, I looked at myself in the mirror from a distance, and realized that my face still looked as fresh as it was in the morning but when I closed in, to my horror 😯 I saw severely dry, flaky and cracked skin around my eyes and lips, that’s where I had applied the concealer and those were the exact spots where I was feeling the burning sensation.
I immediately cleansed my face but damage had been done. 😥 I immediately researched about its ingredients, better late than never I guess. So this is what I found out.

OZOKERITE
Is a kind of naturally occurring wax. There are no adverse effects.

CERA ALBA
Its just beeswax. Never heard of beeswax creating any adverse effect on skin.

ETHYLHEXYL PALMITATE
If a product contains 40%-50% Ethylhexyl Palmitate, mild irritation or allergic reactions may occur but there are no major side effects associated with Ethylhexyl Palmitate. Skin care products do not contain high concentrations of the ingredient.

PARAFFINUM LIQUIDUM(MINERAL OIL)
Is a Petrolatum and is said to strip off natural oils causing premature aging, dryness, acne and prevent elimination of toxins.

ISOPROPYL MYRISTATE
Is synthetic oil, which facilitates absorption. Is considered safe for skin, but people who are prone to acne should avoid products containing this ingredient.

PROPYLPARABEN
DO I NEED TO TALK ABOUT PARABENS?
But anyways here is something you can read
HERE

BHT (BUTYLATED HYDROXTOLUENE)
Overall it’s safe because it is used in minute quantities.

MICA
Mica is a silicate mineral, used in cosmetics for the glittery feel. I couldn’t find any information about its adverse effects.

CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499- IRON OXIDES

No adverse effects expected.

CI7789- TITANIUM DIOXIDE

May cause mild irritation and redness.

HMMMM!!…. these ingredients are common to many cosmetics and skin care products and they don’t really seem to be the culprits.

I spoke to my friend about it, she says this might have happened because the areas around my eyes and lips are dry/dehydrated (eyelids r oily otherwise). She has oily skin and her sister has normal skin, they did not have any problems because of the concealer.

The product packaging is ok, blends and hides imperfections well. It even stays in place the entire day. BUT IT SMELLS LIKE CLAY  AND IT DAMAGED MY SKIN.
They do not have a website and there is absolutely no information about this product or this company online.
I really wonder if this is the complete ingredient list???
After the experience, I am never going to buy or use this product ever again. I did not go back to the SA because

  • I asked for the product
  • It says ‘Stop use if skin irritation appears’
  • It did suit my friend and her sister ( may be I have extra sensitive skin)

It’s been 5 days and this is how the area around my eyes looks like:-

Anyway I give this product …….. :ass: ……… :spank: ……….. :poop: ……… :ass2:
NO RATING!!
DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT PLEASE!!!!!!!!! :shout:

              1. Oye just saw your comment on the brown script post – I’ve tried folie the last three times I went to mac, because I wanted a plum based reddish brown but no matter what I pair it with, I look dark circle-y! :shout: I bought handwritten and swiss chocolate ultimately but planning to get brown script (it’s very orangey – perfect for amber lights and expensive pink!) :yahoo: :yahoo: :woot:

                1. Oh!! is that so…I’ll check out the two you mentioned…actually folie has always been out of stock at mac since the time I wanted it. :(( Hand written in gorgg but I do have a similar shade in Bobbi brown palette. 😀

I loved the amberlights and brown script marriage. I do have gold in my collection I need to marry them with brownscript for sure :yelo:

                  1. Swiss chocolate is reddish, but much softer and less in your face than embark – I like it a LOT :beauty:

did you try folie? If you’re sure you want it, I can pick it up yahaan se :)) I’m coming on sunday anyway… looks like I may miss mickey contractor though… both stores in chennai are saying last week of jan and by the time, I reach delhi, the two things I want will be GONE for sure :headbang: :(( :(( :((
