I am back with an eyeshadow review after quite a while. I have been a fan of Inglot eyeshadows since the first time I laid eyes on them – the price is to die for and so are the shades.
I picked up this eyeshadow palette quite a while back and although it looked quite an OTT shade in the pan I have found myself reaching for this one quite often – especially during winters. Let’s look at the swatches and an EOTD 😀
Shade 311 is a completely matte orangey red shade – I found it to be quite unique and didn’t remember seeing any dupes for it. So I picked it up as I like to experiment with different dark shades.
The shade is superbly pigmented and 1 swipe gives a beautiful romantic red shade on your eyes – it’s a great color for brides, valentine’s day, date nights, or even a nice springtime eye look. It looks great when worn on its own on the lids as well as nicely smoked out with gold or brown or black. Since I am so fond of dark smokey eyes I usually wear this as an overall lid color and then smoke out the outer corner with black. I have also worn it to a friend’s wedding with Mac’s Coppering and it looked great – I got quite a few compliments for it 😀
One word of caution – stay away from bright lippies when you are wearing this shade on your eyes to avoid looking like a strawberry 😀 I usually stick to nudes when I wear this.
Texture and Staying Power:
The staying power is awesome like all other Inglot freedom system refills and with a primer easily stays on for 7hrs without creasing, smudging, or fading. I wore this on Valentine’s Day too and that is the look I am replicating in my EOTD below. Hope you like it!
I have worn this over UDPP and used it with Mac’s Coppering and NYX Black and Mac Smolder to line the eyes. This is a slightly heavy eye look but you can also wear it on its own for a nice romantic look 😀
I would say this shade is not for beginners as it is bright and matte and can look slightly OTT if not blended or mixed with the right colors. Having said that, I think it’s a great shade to make your eyes stand out on special occasions and give it that popping, bright look that is sure to get you a lot of compliments. They can love it, they can hate it – but they DEFINITELY can’t ignore it – geddit?
So, go ahead and experiment with it – for 300 bucks it doesn’t hurt, right?
Hope you guys liked the EOTD – would love to hear your comments 😀
