Today, I am going to review a lipstick from a brand, which belongs to the medium range make-up brand available in India. Its availability is restricted to a few cities in India, but it is available online to a certain extent. I first saw this lipstick on IMBB, and was trying to get some from the same brand. My previous two lipsticks from this brand had reached its expiry (though I had not finished them up); and so it was better for me to get something which I guess; I will be able to finish up within the short shelf life this brand has.
Rs. 850/- for 1.8 gm product (previously Rs. 680/-). I found this a bit too much since this gives only 1.8 gm product. I guess, on quantity for price basis, a MAC lipstick will be less costly.
My Experience with Inglot Slim Gel Lipstick #44:
This lipstick although not belonging to the very high-end beauty brand; does have a very sleek packaging. It comes within a black box packaging (as with all other products of this brand); also the lipstick comes in a slim black packaging, with the cap fitting snugly with the case; and closes in a snap. The bullet has a slant tip; and the lipstick length and diameter is very suited for travel; as well as easy for application. It almost looks like the MAC Slim shines.
Texture: The texture is very gel like I guess. It goes on quite sheer to start with, but within 2-3 swipes, it can be built up to full coverage. The lipstick goes on fairly smoothly on the lips; without any obvious tugging. It does not slip on the lips. This lipstick moisturizes the lips, does not dry it out. On the lips, it leaves a shine, which stays on for quite some time. It does not contain any obvious shimmer as such. During its entire stay, it never bleeds at all.
Shade: The shade is very apt for these cold, winter months. It is a bold red with distinct orange undertones. The shade is dark, so it will hide any pigmentation of the lips. It is not a unique shade; you will get it across many brands. However, the texture and the lasting power would make me opt for this lipstick again and again; whenever I want this shade.
Staying Power: Although this lipstick goes on sheer at the beginning, and is moisturising and glossy; this stays on for a fairly long time. Without meals, it stays on for 5-6 hours, and then leaves a stain, which stays on till I remove it. With light meals, the glossiness goes off; but a beautiful dark stain remains behind.
The only con I found in this lipstick per se…was the smell, a strange metallic and almost rusty kind of smell which is not to my liking. Thankfully, it does not last long.
