How are you all? How you guys dealing with the chilling cold weather? Being a dry skinned girl, I am scared of winters. My skin gets so angry and it becomes dry and dull if I neglect to take care of it for just one day. And doing makeup is like a nightmare for me. My CC cream or foundation sits on the dry blotches of my face no matter how much I moisturize. Recently, I heard that Innisfree has launched a new CC Cushion (CC what? Hehe..yes! A cushion that is filled with CC Cream. I will talk more about these cushion later in this review) and it’s called “Ampoule Intense Cushion SPF 34 PA++,” which is specially made for winter season and I am going to review the product today.
The ampoule intense cushion formulated to keep the skin refreshed with a long-lasting hydration effect.
$23 for 15 gm.
Wow!! So many natural ingredients. This cushion has good emollients like Cyclopentasiloxane and Phenyl Trimethicone. It also has great UVA and UVB rays filters like Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate and Titanium Dioxide.
Before I start with my review, I will give you a brief intro about these cushion foundations:
Till now, you have heard about BB creams, CC creams and you might have even heard about DD creams. But the current trend is to “cushion-ify” all these creams. IOPE, a high-end Korean brand owned by Amore Pacific, was the first brand to introduce these cushions in 2008 and the company claims that they sold nearly 11 million of cushion compacts since its launch. Do your mental math and tell me how many they sold per minute. Now almost every brand in Korea has their own Cushion compacts. Cushion compact comes in the form of a liquid foundation which is soaked in a springy sponge. These cushion compacts usually comes with an air-in-puff applicator that is designed specifically to work with this cushion formula by giving a thinner and even layered color. Every time you press that cushion with the applicator, the liquid from the cushion is released on to the applicator. It is very pleasurable to use these cushion compacts especially for those people who find it difficult to use foundation brushes or fingers to get required coverage. Because of the weightless formula, these cushion compacts are buildable to multiple layers without looking pasty. Since these compacts have liquidy cream inside, it gives a very hydrating effect to the skin and provide healthy dewy finish.
My Experience with Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion:
Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion comes in three different shades:
1. No-13 Light Beige.
2. No-21 Natural Beige.
3. No 23 True Beige.
I chose “No. 21 Natural Beige” shade. The cushion compact comes in a round simple container. It has a round mirror inside and there’s also a plastic separator between the cushion and applicator. The cushion has thousands of tiny pores which dispenses the cream when pressed with applicator. The air-filled applicator is blue in color so that you can clearly see how much product has dispensed on to the puff. Press the applicator gently on the cushion sponge and pat it on your face. Because of the air-filled technology, the product does not soak into the applicator and just stays on top of it. This avoids wastage of product and gives you maximum hydration when applied on the face.
The cream has herbal scent which fades away quickly after application. After application, my face was literally glowing. It evened out the redness around my mouth and nose very well. My face was so bright and looked dewy. Though the coverage is sheer, it can be buildable up to medium coverage. The cream settles into fine lines when layered, so you have to use a primer to fill the fine lines.
Coming to the staying power, the product stayed on my face for a good 5 to 6 hours for me before needing any touch-ups. Even after 6 hours, there were no dry patches on my face. If you don’t like dewy finish, you can apply oil control powder on top of it to suppress the shine. Overall, it is a nice CC cushion to replace your foundation creams and it is perfect for every day use.

I think this cushion will not suit my skin in summers as my skin tends to get oily during summer. So, I will use this till winters are gone and try other cushions later.
