Skin Type: Normal to oily (tends to get dry in winter), acne-prone and sensitive
Today, I will be reviewing a product from Innisfree meant for acne-prone skin. I wanted to try out the spot patches since a long time. Though spot patches are not easily available separately in India and after waiting for long time, I finally bought the duo version. For the first time ever, I tried such spot patches and spot sticks. Needless to say, I am pretty much impressed with the efficacy of Innisfree Bija Trouble Spot Focus Duo. So, let’s get into the details to know more about it.

My Experience with Innisfree bija Trouble Spot Focus Duo:
Innisfree Bija Trouble Spot Focus Duo comes in a sea-green colored cardboard package. You can easily slide this sleek box in your handbag. It houses all the information but in Korean language. However, there is a sticker placed on the back side of the box having a few details in English. Inside the cardboard package, there are two other packages having spot patches and spot sticks separately. The spot patches come in another sea-green colored sleek package and spot sticks are in a transparent plastic pouch. Both, spot patches and spot sticks can be carried separately on their own as well. Overall, the packaging is neat, simple, effective and travel-friendly.
Texture, Colour and Consistency:
Let’s move on to how the patch feels on the skin. The patches are smooth to touch on one side and has gel type product on the other side. These are circular and 24 in number, having every size. You just have to pick a patch suitable accordingly to the acne size. Spot patches are almost transparent with hint of beige colour and can be used under makeup as well. When the spot patch is on the skin, I cannot even feel its edge. It completely covers the acne and conceals the redness also. Spot patch gets stuck to the skin properly and does not budge until I peel it off myself. It completely gets matched with the skin and looks like a second skin.
Now coming to the spot sticks. In the name of spot sticks, there are 10 cotton swabs or Q-tips having their stems filled with a transparent liquid type product. It is quite easy to use and the liquid dries out very quickly after applying. So, you don’t have to worry about layering your products.
I have acne-prone skin and despite taking proper care, my skin tends to have occasional breakouts out of nowhere. Hence, to treat them what could be better than a spot patch?
I use these spot patches or spot sticks usually at night because they must be placed on the skin for at least 8-12 hours. Before applying, I cleanse my face properly and let it dry. When the skin is completely dry, I use the spot patch for big pimples and spot sticks for tiny zits. Further, I carry on with my regular skin care routine.
Spot Sticks: The cotton swabs or Q-tips have their ends dry and liquid filled in the stems. To use spot sticks, I have to twist and pull the stem to break the lock (Instructions to use are clearly mentioned on the plastic pouch that contains the spot sticks). As soon as the seal is broken, the liquid runs towards the other end. Finally, one end of the Q-tips is completely wet with the liquid. Now, I have to just apply the liquid on the spots.
Spot Patches: To use spot patches, you just have to pick up one of right size and place it over the acne.
When coming to the results and efficacy, I am super impressed with these spot patches and spot sticks.
I use spot sticks for the tiny zits and it treats them overnight. The tiny zits are nowhere to be seen in the morning and the skin is clear. I have used spot patches for big pimples also. It effectively sucks up the impurities and the gross can be seen on the surface of spot patch. Now, when coming to treat the big pimples, either it completely vanishes them or reduces their size. 2 out of 3 times, spot patch has cleared up the acne and 1 out of 3 times, it reduced the size and I used another patch to make it disappear. However, if you have emerging acne it will definitely make it disappear within single usage. Also, it effectively reduces the redness.
I have also tried spot patch for an under the skin bump. It does nothing in healing or treating it. I have also used combination of spot stick and spot patch for under the skin bump, but nothing is effective in treating it. Thus, in order to treat the acne, it must be on the skin’s surface.
Moreover, if you have full blown acne, spot patch will not be able to treat it quickly and will take at least 2 to 3 days. Hence, in order to treat full blown acne, I will advise you to opt for over the counter benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid products.
The best thing about using spot patches and spot sticks to treat and heal the acne is, they do not let the acne leave any acne scar or dark spots behind. After using spot patches and spot sticks, the skin is clear without any scars or spots. Moreover, spot patches do not let you touch or pick up the pimples also.
