Innisfree Olive Hydro Gel Mask Review

Once, I was so tired and exhausted after office that I didn’t even want to wash my face, forget following the CTM routine. I just wanted to climb my bed and snore to glory. Somehow, I managed to convince myself to at least cleanse my face and remove makeup. But, as soon as I started putting on my night time skincare products, the idea to try out one of the masks came to my mind and I chose this Innisfree Olive Hydro Gel Mask. My experience with Berry Mask from this range was wonderful and I was hopeful about this one too. Let’s find out if this one too could impress me, in the review.

My Experience with Innisfree Olive Hydro Gel Mask:

Packaging: The outer pack contains the mask enveloped between similar shaped transparent plastic sheets. The mask was split into two halves. The upper half was longer than the lower half. The pictures will give you a good idea.

Product: This is a slimy and transparent liquid which smells slightly like lemon. I thought my nose was playing games with me – Olive mask with citrusy smell! So, I made my husband smell it too and yes, it was citrusy and lemony all right! I checked the ingredients and discovered presence of Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract. The handful of liquid leftover after applying the mask can be spread over neck and décolletage. The liquid left an oily feel to hands and body after application.

Usage and Results: The mask was large enough to cover my entire face, but not neck. Top half covered me in a straight line from ear to ear till nose. Bottom half started where the top half ends, but a large area around the lips was left uncovered. The mask is supposed to be left on for 10-20 minutes, but I felt it was moist enough to sustain longer on my face. So, I kept it on for 40 minutes. I also noticed a slight cooling effect almost as if a breeze was blowing on my face.

One advantage of testing masks at night, apart from CTM lethargy in my case, is that the efficacy of the product can be verified overnight, uninterrupted. There is no unnecessary sun, heat, dirt or pollution that you need to brave at night. After taking the mask off, I applied nothing on my face. This is my test to know how good the product on its own is. Here too, I simply applied lip balm and eye cream and slept off.

Innisfree Olive Hydro Gel Mask Review

With my previous experience with Innisfree Berry Mask, I was expecting something great again for my Oily/Combination skin. I wanted a completely non-oily feel after waking up. But, this olive mask greeted me with an oily T zone in the morning. My skin felt supple, but why the oil! Since next day was an off, I decided to check how long would the moisturising effect stay. I decided to stay indoors and not use any product on my skin till evening. My skin remained fine and I did not get any additional oil secretion on T zone, the whole day (oily skin, if not moisturized will start oozing oil in some time). This made me realise that the pack works on its own with a different mechanism. It claimed to provide moisturization for a long time, and it delivered the result too.

Conclusion: Innisfree has again proven to be effective on me. I am really gearing up to switch brand loyalties soon if it continues to do so. I feel it will be extremely helpful for those with dry skin, though, they may not be able to get through the day like me without any additional moisturisation.

Pros of Innisfree Olive Hydro Gel Mask:

• Stands true to its claim of providing long lasting hydration.
• Has organic and superior quality Olive oil with other impressive ingredients.
• Should suit all skin types, but dry skin would benefit the most from it.
• Provides a mild cooling effect.
• The results are not immediate, but they do take effect and lasts for few hours.
• Cost effective.
• Travel friendly.

Cons of Innisfree Olive Hydro Gel Mask:

• Mask doesn’t cover the neck area, however, it’s a personal ask.
• The exact pack is not available. However, I see it being sold as Innisfree It’s Real Olive Mask in India.

IMBB Rating:

4.5/5

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Innisfree Olive Hydro Gel Mask?

I will recommend it to dry skinned beauties, who need that intense moisturization! I would not repurchase this one since I like its Berry variant more.

    1. Hey Jomol, I have 2 more interesting masks left to review. I’ll quickly finish those and move on to purederm as per your recommendation. Do let me know if there is any specific mask that will suit my oily skin.
