Today, I will be reviewing a product from the “Golden Olive” range from Innisfree – the Olive Real Skin, which is a toner. I love Innisfree for their different ranges of skincare catering to varying skin types and needs. I was looking for a toner for the winter season, as my skin tends to get drier and flaky compared to summer. Read on to find out how this toner fared for me.
INR 1000 for 180 ml.
A deeply hydrating toner with nutritious olives to deliver moisture deep into your skin. A rich, nourishing toner for immediate hydration with organic olives full of antioxidants (polyphenol, oleic acid) and vitamins. Extra virgin olive oil extracted from luxurious golden olives grown in the best environment.
How To Use:
Apply an appropriate amount over face and neck, and then gently pat for better absorption.
The ingredients of note include glycerine, castor oil and olive oil. It also has jojoba oil derivatives, lemon peel oil and orange peel oil, responsible for the citrusy fragrance. It also contains meadowfoam seed oil, which has many antioxidants.
My Experience with Innisfree Olive Real Skin Toner:
Packaging: The toner comes in a sleek olive green plastic bottle. It is transparent, so the amount of product left can be seen in the bottle. It has a black cap on the top. On opening the bottle, the product can be dispensed using the white plastic cap which has a small perforation. Dispensing the product can get a little messy, as the product tends to collect at the white cap if not wiped every time after usage.
Texture and Fragrance: The texture of this product is slightly viscous, but still fairly runny. It feels like water when poured into my palm. It is translucent white in colour. It has a strong scent of fresh olives, which I really like. It also seems to have a citrusy under note. The fragrance disappears after application.
During the winter months, my primary concern is moisturization. Therefore I decided to switch out my toner for this one. I was a bit skeptical at first because this does contain real olive oil, but it is not at all sticky or tacky if you use the right amount. I like to apply this using my palms, rather than using cotton rounds. After washing my face, I splash a bit of the toner onto my palms. I distribute the product over my palms and apply it all over my face. I like to tap in the product for better absorption. I apply the remaining product onto my neck as well.
After application, my face feels plump and moisturized. I give it a few seconds for it to be completely absorbed, after which it does not feel oily at all, and then continue with the rest of my skincare routine.
Pros of Innisfree Olive Real Skin Toner:
- Made with organic olive oil.
- Free from parabens, synthetic colorants, mineral oil, animal-originated ingredients, imidazolidinyl urea.
- Product lasts a long time; value for money product.
- Contains added vitamins and antioxidants.
- Need only a small amount to cover entire face.
Cons of Innisfree Olive Real Skin Toner:
- Availability is an issue.
- Dispensing the product can get messy; I would have preferred a pump for hygiene purpose.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Innisfree Olive Real Skin Toner?
I would not be repurchasing this soon, as it will last a really long time. I would definitely recommend this to people with normal and dry skin. For people with oily or combination skin, I would recommend that you try it at the store. Overall, I really liked this product, but would also like to try out toners from other ranges.
