My Experience with Innisfree Perfect UV Protection Essence Water Base SPF 50+:

I have been using sunblocks and sunscreens for years. There are a few good sunscreens available in the market and they are very difficult to be found. I wanted to try this sunscreen because it is essence based rather than cream based. This sun essence comes in a plastic squeeze tube with a screw on plastic cap. It is very handy and will be easy to carry in our bag for reapplying.

In sunscreens, the most important thing you have to do is to check the type of sunscreen before buying it. This product is a chemical sunscreen containing ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate as the active ingredient. This type of chemical sunscreen usually absorbs UV rays and prevents them from damaging your skin.

The tube dispenses very less amount of product each time. The product comes out as a cream, but on spreading becomes a milky liquid, and gets absorbed just like water. You won’t face the difficulty of applying it carefully like other sunscreens.

Also, it doesn’t leave a white cast at all. It dries to a soft, satin finish, and it also leaves a glow on the face, which is very beneficial during winters. It might not be a likeable effect for those with oily skin or those who sweat easily, especially during summers. I have combination skin, and I feel that it will not be the best for me in summers as it will make my T-zone shinier than necessary. If you have normal to very dry skin, you will most likely like it.

It stays well on the face, but like all sunscreens, it will require reapplication after a period of time. Also, it has a fragrance similar to Innisfree’s green tea range and it is almost the same fragrance of their water fit cushion. The fragrance is mild enough but it stays for a long time.

This sunscreen also stays well under makeup. It doesn’t grease or dry out your makeup, rather it makes the application smooth. I don’t use much makeup other than my bb or cc creams. So, I can’t vouch for full blown makeup.

Coming to the price point, it is on the costlier side for a 50ml product, but my previous sunscreen was Lakme 9 to 5 one and it was around 500 for 30ml. So, both are more or so in the same price range.

Pros of Innisfree Perfect UV Protection Essence Water Base SPF 50+:

  • I really enjoyed using this product!
  • Watery consistency.
  • Easy to spread and absorbs well.
  • Doesn’t leave a white cast.
  • Doesn’t make the skin greasy or dry.
  • Gives a subtle glow.

Cons of Innisfree Perfect UV Protection Essence Water Base SPF 50+:

  • Fragrance stays for a long time (con for me, may not be for you!).
  • On the pricier side.
