Intensive Hand and Nail Spa at Home: DIY

Intensive Hand and Nail Spa at Home: DIY

Hello sweeties,

Here I am with a DIY. Most of the activities that we go through, hands are the maximum used body part, be it writing, typing, eating, washing clothes or utensils on the part of housewives, cooking and even while doing make-up and the face takes away all the pampering. So let’s not be unfair to the hands and give them an even treat. This is one of the easiest spas where you can treat your hands and nails at the same time. It will take hardly 30 minutes of your day and you can pick Sundays like I do for pampering your hands. So let’s start.

Things you will need:

• Nail polish remover or nail polish remover pads
• A big bowl of hot water
• Lemon
• Rosewater
• Nail clipper
• Nail filer
• Nail buffer
• Olive oil
• Pumice stone
• Fuller’s earth pack or any of your choice
• Exfoliating scrub
• Moisturizer of your choice
Things needed

Step 1: In the very first step, you will take the nail remover pads and wipe off the old nail polish. Here I had applied only the base coat, so I am removing that off.

Step 2: Take a big bowl, big enough to dip both of your hands. Fill the bowl with hot water and put in some rosewater and half a lemon. Putting in the lemon will help to lighten the darkness or the tan on your hands and also remove the yellowish stains from your nails. Keep your hands dipped in for like 10 minutes. Now that your nails have become soft, wipe the entire hands with a towel and clip of the nails if you want if they are a bit big.

Step 3: Now take your filer and start filing the nails in the preferred shape, either square or oval. One important tip is that while filing your nails, never move the filer back and forth to shape it, they make your nails weak and prone to breakage. Always move the filer on only one direction while shaping them.

Step 4: Now take the buffer and rub it back and forth on your nails. You will think that the buffer is not doing anything but it actually removes the rough upper layer from your nails and reveals a very smooth layer and gives it a shine. You can feel the smoothness by touching them.

Step 5: Now take olive oil on your palms and massage your hands for 5-7 minutes. Massage all the parts of the hands for 2 minutes each, the palm, fingers, nails and the back portion of the hand like shown in the pictures.

Step 6: Now you already have the olive oil on your hands, now rub the pumice stone in circular motions on your hands to buff away the rough dry skin and the dark cells. Don’t be very harsh or the pumice stone will cause rashes on your delicate skin.

Step 7: Now as you apply the pack on your face, remember your hands need it too to remove the impurities. So mix rosewater and fuller’s earth and apply it on both the hands and let it dry. You can use any pack of your choice.

Step 8: Wash your hands and pick an exfoliating scrub of your choice. Take a pea sized amount and exfoliate for 2 minutes and wash your hands again.

Step 9: Now when you applied the pack and exfoliated the hands, some particles might have got stuck on the edges of the nails or inside the nails if your nails are long. So with the help of the filer, clean the stuff from inside of your nails and even the corners.

Step 10: Now finally pick your favourite moisturiser and moisturise your hands.

Final look: Now apply the base coat and apply it twice to prevent frequent chipping of your nails. And apply your desired nail polish and you are done babies!! Here you will notice then your hands will be much smoother and softer than before and the nails will be naturally shiny and strong before you apply your nail paints. Do this once every week or in 15 days to give your hands and nails a delicate treat.
