Is Essence Flirty Pink Lipstick the Most Shimmery Pink?

I am here to review a lipstick from Essence called “Flirty Pink.” This is my first lipstick from Essence, and I’m excited, so let’s get to the review part!

My Experience with Essence Flirty Pink Lipstick:

Packaging:  Flirty Pink comes in a rose pink lipstick case. It’s made out of plastic. but it feels sturdy. The name of the shade and shade number are written on a pink sticker at the bottom. The colour of the packaging is same as the colour of the lipstick, so it is easy to find a particular shade in your stash. The cap fits with an audible click. The packaging is convenient and travel friendly.

Colour:  Flirty pink is kind of rose pink colour. It’s a very cute pink filled with a lot of silver sparkles. I do not like shimmer on my lips, so was a bit apprehensive about it initially, but when I swatched it, I thought might as well try it. The shimmers do not look over the top.

Texture: Texture of this lipstick is very smooth. You do not feel the shimmer while you swatch it, unlike some lipsticks.  When swatched, it feels a little grainy due to all the shimmer.  Very easy to apply and feel so soft on my lips, almost like a lip balm! It does moisturize my lips a little bit.

Pigmentation:  First swipe goes very sheer on the lips. The colour is very buildable. After 2-3 swatches, you get a nice, almost natural pink on your lips. If not for the glitter in it, it would resemble a tinted balm. On my lips, the glitter shows prominently than the pink tint.  But on my hand, the pink tint shows with only a little bit of that shimmer. I wish it showed the same on my lips! But never mind.

Staying Power:  It stays on my lips for 3 hours without eating, drinking anything. It’s transferable. The pink fades leaving the glitter on my lips which I absolutely hate!

Smell and Taste:  The lipstick smells very sweet; so much that sometimes it annoys me! The fragrance stays for quite a bit after application. However, the lipstick does not have any taste. Thank Goodness!

Pros of Essence Flirty Pink Lipstick For Shimmery Pink Lips:

• Nice and travel-friendly packaging.
• Easy to spot the colour of the lipstick.
• Pretty color.
• Moisturizing.
• Buildable shade.
• Would suit every skin tone.
• No taste.
• Good texture.

Cons of Essence Flirty Pink Lipstick:

• The overtly sweet smell.
• Low staying power.
• Glitter stays on after the lipstick fades.

Final Verdict:

If you like shimmer on your lips, you are going to like this one, but as I said, I do not like shimmer.  I will wear this on occasions; not every day. This shade would suit all skin tones which is a plus. Also, this is an everyday colour. You can wear it to office or college.  It’s a really good, subtle shade.
