I am back with a mascara review. This product was ranked #1 on Cosme in 2013/2014. Note the words super waterproof. This is the absolute best mascara I have ever used and definitely beats my previous HG Kate mascara! It is one of those rare mascaras that are so good, that I would say run out and get it! I mean right now! It will be worth your while!
My Experience With Isehan Kiss Me Heroine Make Long And Curl And Super Water Proof Mascara:
Packaging: I love the packaging on the Heroine Make series. It comes in a deep purple/aubergine tube with silver writing on it and a rose gold top. The tube looks luxurious, yet is very minimalist and chic at the same time. There is 6 g of product in the tube.
Formula: The formula is very impressive on this one. It is in the Goldilocks zone: it is not too wet and not too dry. It is just right. It has not dried out in the 1.5 months that I have had it so far. Consistency-wise, it is very creamy and the color is pitch black. The formula dries within about 3-5 seconds after you apply it and it is difficult to layer once it has dried. And if you try piling on another coat after it has dried, the lashes will feel literally hard. This was my first time experiencing lashes hardening, so it was a little strange for me. The way to get around the lash hardening problem is to only work on one eye at a time. Finish up with it and then move on to the next. Otherwise, prepare for some discomfort!
Buildability/Curl Hold: I wear just 2 or 3 coats of this and it makes my lashes look very very long and thick, as in, they touch my brow bone long. It builds on itself very well. I like that a lot. You can go for a false lash effect very easily with this. Oh my god it is unbelievably amazing! This one holds curl like it’s nobody’s business. With some mascaras, my lashes droop as soon as they are hit with product. But with this, the second you put it on, it holds the curl intact. It is also truly super waterproof. How I tested this is, I took a 20-minute hot shower and there was still mascara on my lashes after! It was exactly the same as before. Yeah you guys, this is super heavy duty. Truly delivers.
Wand/Bristles: The wand is curved beautifully, but not as much as an eyelash curler. Because of this, it is very easy to get around and coat all the lashes well. The part that curves inward has very short bristles and the opposite side has longer bristles. I use the longer bristles first to build length and separate the lashes. Then I use the short curved bristle side to build volume. I like this method better than using the shorter bristle side first and the longer bristle side later. Even though this is only a lengthening mascara, the shorter side does an amazing job at building very good amount of volume.
Flaking/Clumping: This formula has never flaked or clumped so far. I love that about this.
Transfer: This is one of the aspects which I find frustrating. If I use only the short bristle side first and I am not careful, it transfers to the skin on my upper and lower lash line. I recommend working on the lashes first before the face and using the longer bristle side first. Also recommend the longer side for lower lashes instead of the short side.
Does it come off easily?
It comes off with my FANCL mild cleansing oil, but I have to massage the lashes for a few seconds to feel that they are all gone (a little longer than my regular waterproof mascaras). I recommend cleansing oil with this because you won’t be physically rubbing the delicate eye area and causing damage to it as with regular makeup remover. Make sure you throw out your mascara after the 3-month mark to avoid infections.

Cons of Isehan Kiss Me Heroine Make Long And Curl And Super Water Proof Mascara:
- Transfers to the skin around the lashes if you use the short bristle side and are not careful.
- Takes a bit of effort to take off.

Conclusion:
It is a very heavy-duty mascara. I would recommend it very highly for those times when you want to make sure your mascara stays put no matter what. I like to use it for everyday personally. They are not joking around when they say this is super waterproof and it is on #1 spot on Cosme for a reason. It is truly amazing and I would say run out and buy it!
