This is the second product I bought as part of my J.Cat Beauty haul and I know most people are a bit skeptic about this brand because most products are below $5 and considered cheap, but I think they are worth the spend. Keep reading to know why I am so happy with this product.

My Take on J.Cat Beauty Rocker Chic Velvet Touch Waterproof Gel Eyeliner – Back in Black:
I have a bunch of black eyeliners and yet I keep buying more because a girl can’t have enough of those black beauties which enhance our beauty with just a flick. This eyeliner resembles Essence gel liner in packaging and performance – both are in the twist up pencil form and perform really well; however, the J.Cat eyeliner costs more than twice the Essence eyeliner.
Packaging: Product comes in a gel pencil form and one might think that it is sharpenable, but instead it comes in the twist-up form and also has a tiny sharpener in the end to sharpen the tip (which it fails to do). Even though the sharpener is kind of futile, I would still give the packaging five stars because in most gel pencils, the product gets wasted while sharpening.
Texture: It is supersoft and buttery and true to its claim. It is smooth to apply but not too smooth like Revlon Colorstay pencil kohl which is so smooth that it smudges when one sweats. One sweep gives a good color and in few seconds it dries to an almost smudge-proof finish.
Color: The black color turns intense noir with just two more swipes. I love the color because it is very pigmented and defines my eyes really well.
Pigmentation: One sweep gives a dull black color and a couple of sweeps give a jet black color; so depending on the intensity of color one desires, it can be applied.
Wear time: Once applied, do not mess with it for at least 15 seconds and that’s it; enjoy black smudge-proof look for an entire day or as long as you do not mess with it too much. It gives a good wear time on waterline, but the wear time might vary from person to person. One can use a loose powder on lids or a primer to prevent it from creasing or smudging.
