This is the second eye liner (check the other here) I purchased from the brand J.Cat Beauty. I know most people are a bit skeptic about this brand because most products are priced below $5 and considered cheap but they neither appear not behave like a cheap brand and are worth the spend. Keep reading to know why I am so happy with this product.

My Take on J.Cat Beauty Rocker Chic Velvet Touch Waterproof Gel Eyeliner – Mosh Pit:
I have a bunch of black eye liners and a few colored ones but I do not wear the latter that often because they don’t blend well with regular, everyday makeup; however, I have made an exception in this case because I absolutely love it. This eye liner resembles Essence gel liner in packaging and performance – both are in the twist up pencil form and perform really well; however, the J.Cat eyeliner costs more than twice the Essence eye liner.
Packaging: Product comes in a gel pencil form and one might think that it is sharpen-able but instead it is in the twist up form and also has a tiny sharpener in the end to sharpen the tip (which it fails to do). Even though the sharpener is kind of futile, I would still give the packaging five stars because in most gel pencils the product gets wasted while sharpening.
Texture: It has a super soft and buttery texture and true to its claim is a gel eye liner in pencil form. It is smooth to apply but not too smooth like Revlon Colorstay pencil kohl which is so smooth that it smudges when one sweats. One sweep gives a good color and in few seconds it dries to an almost smudge-proof finish.
Color: It is a copper brown eyeliner with mild shimmer and it looks equally pretty on lids and water line. Brown tones usually appear dull black on my water line but in case of this liner, the true color is visible throughout the day.
Pigmentation: One sweep gives a pretty copper-brown color and one can add more color on top but a single sweep is enough because it gives a good color intensity.
Wear time: Once applied do not mess with it for at least 15 seconds and that’s it; enjoy black smudge proof look for an entire day or as long as one does not mess with it too much. It gives a good wear time on water line as well but since most of us have oily lids, the wear time might vary from person to person. One can use a loose powder on lids or a primer to prevent it from creasing or smudging.
