Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm Natural Mint and Shea Butter SPF 25 Review

Hello everyone,

I am a lip balm hoarder 🙂 I own at least 4-5 lip balms at any given time and have them stashed all around my home and in my purse. This review will be on Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 in Natural Mint and Shea Butter variant.
Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm

Product Description:
An emollient balm that soothes and relieves dry, chapped, irritated lips.

What it is formulated to do:  This hydrating lip balm is enriched with superior skin conditioners and antioxidants to heal cracked and chapped lips. Grapefruit and ginger refresh and soothe, while shea butter and avocado oil soften and condition lips. My Experience with Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm Natural Mint and Shea Butter SPF 25:

Packaging:  This lip balm comes in a squeeze tube with a slanted applicator. Though I do prefer using lip balms which come in a twist-up tube format, I don’t mind this kind either.
Lip balm tip

Texture:  This lip balm has a thick consistency, thicker than your regular Vaseline. But once you apply it on your lips, with the contact of your body heat, the consistency does thin down a bit. It spreads easily without getting goopy.

Finish:  The finish of this lip balm is very natural, neither too shiny nor too matte.

Fragrance/Feel on Lips:  This lip balm comes in a variety of different fragrances. I have the “mint and shea butter” version, which has a strong scent similar to a mouth freshener. It does tingle slightly on the lip, but that’s not too bothersome.  It does not feel too sticky or slippery.

Usage and Results:
This lip balm does a great job of hydrating my lips in a short amount of time. Since this product does contain SPF, which is rare in a lip balm, it also protects your lips from sun damage. This is especially great to apply when you are running out, doing errands. The lip balm stays on easily for a couple of hours on my lips and my lips feel very smooth and moisturized even after it fades away, hence I can say the results are long lasting.

Overall, I am very happy with this lip balm and would recommend it.

Pros of Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm Natural Mint and Shea Butter SPF 25:

  • Deeply hydrating.
  • Long wearing.
  • Natural finish, not too shiny or matte.
  • Minty scent smells refreshing.
  • Contains SPF, which is a huge bonus.

Cons of Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm Natural Mint and Shea Butter SPF 25:

  • Colorless, though some people don’t mind that, but since I do use this lip balm for day-time due to the SPF content, I would have loved if it also gave a bit of color to my lips, but this of course is not a deal breaker.
