My Experience with Jane Iredale Botanical Makeup Brush Cleaner:

Having used Clinique Makeup Brush Cleanser, I wanted to try something different and new, and that’s why I picked up Jane Iredale Botanical Brush Cleaner. It comes packaged in a transparent, good-quality plastic bottle, with a screw-on cap which has a spray attached with an outer cap. This bottle comes packed in a stiff plastic packing, which needs to be cut carefully to open the packaging. The spray enables to spray the cleanser directly on to brushes.

Personally, I feel it is more hygienic to spray the cleanser on each brush and clean each brush individually. Actually, this cleanser is very easy to use, just spray the cleanser on each brush and then wipe off on a dry tissue. It automatically dissolves all makeup, grime and oil. Small-sized brushes and dry product brushes get cleansed easily in one go, but the bigger brushes and cream product brushes, need to be sprayed several times to remove all makeup and grime off of them.

Brushes that have been cleaned using this cleanser dry up quickly and are ready to use instantly. However, this brush cleaner contains a quick-drying alcohol base and I have sensitive skin and that’s why I use a tissue wet with water to clean brushes to lessen the alcohol effect on my skin.

I first spray the cleanser on the brush and then wipe off the bristles with a tissue wet with water. It helps remove all makeup, grime, and dirt from the brush. I keep wiping the brush on the wet tissue, till I am sure that the brush is thoroughly cleansed. This cleanser helps thoroughly clean all my makeup brushes, be it natural or synthetic. It does not damage bristles.

My brushes look fresh, clean, and almost new. The brush does not change or lose its shape or texture. It has a very pleasant fragrance. Of course, one or two of my brushes do shed a bristle or two, but very occasionally.

Overall, it’s a very good product; however, it is quite pricey for the quantity provided. That’s the only reason I may not repurchase it. The Clinique Makeup Brush Cleanser lasted for more than a year, and there’s still some amount left. This Jane Iredale Brush Cleaner may last only for a few months.
