My Experience with Jane Iredale PureBrow Brow Gel – Brunette:
Packaging: Jane Iredale Purebrow Brow Gel comes in a brunette coloured tube with a golden coloured, screw open cap which has a spoolie brush for application. This brush enables an easier and smoother application. This tube comes packed in a white coloured cardboard box. The cap closes tightly and hence, the packaging is travel-friendly.
This is my first brow gel. Earlier to this, I have used dry eyeshadows to tint or give a thicker effect to my brows. At times, I have also used Jane Iredale brown coloured mascara with a soft hand to groom and thicken my brows. I have very fine, thin and light textured hair on my brows. To give them a darker effect, I purchased this brow gel in the shade brunette.
As the name suggests, it’s a brunette coloured, gel based formula which is not sticky, adds a nice tint to my brows and gives them a thicker and groomed effect. I first comb my brows using the comb side of Kent twelve eye contour brush. Then, I apply Jane Iredale brow gel, using the spoolie brush provided. After the gel settles down, I groom/brush my brows using the Kent twelve eye contour brush, to give the shape I want.
If you read my review on Kent eye contour brush, you will note that I find this brush a bit harsh and rough for my sensitive skin. However, if I use this brush after applying Jane Iredale brow gel, I do not sense the rough or harsh feeling. This Jane Iredale brow gel smoothens, protects my brows, whilst grooming and giving them a thicker effect.
It is highly pigmented, lasting power is between eight to ten hours. It needs to be removed with a makeup remover or washed thoroughly with a facial cleanser. It is water resistant. Once settled down, it does not budge or smear or spread. It is made of good for skin ingredients, hence, it does not cause any irritation and gives a soothing effect.
The colour brunette suits my medium fair skin tone. This brow gel gives me thicker, younger and natural looking brows. It can be used for special occasions or for daily wear, as and when desired. It can be easily removed with cleansing wipes, makeup remover or facial wash. This brow gel can also be used on eye lashes as a mascara. A little goes a long way.
