My Experience with Jane Iredale Purepressed Base Mineral Foundation Refill:

Packaging: Packaged in a good quality metal pan, which is then packed in a transparent plastic compact-like case. A slim powder puff is provided for on-the-go use. It is a refill and needs to be placed in a refillable compact, which is sold separately.

I was introduced to Jane Iredale products, a few years ago, by a friend who had gifted me Jane Iredale PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation in the shade Warm Sienna. I also recollect that it came packaged in a rose gold colored compact case. This refill packaging is a recent introduction in the market and I had to buy the refillable compact separately. I personally feel that the shade Warm Sienna is a bit light and pale for my moderately fair skin tone. Even though, this is the shade recommended for my skin tone. So, this time, I picked Golden Glow which is two shades darker.

Golden Glow is a medium shade with strong gold undertones. This shade suits my moderately fair skin and gives a natural glow to my skin. Has SPF20 protection and is good for daytime use in the sun. Gives sheer to medium coverage. Does not feel heavy or powdery. The texture is smooth and velvety. It can be applied with the slim powder puff provided or a powder brush. I prefer using my Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush to apply this base.

I am also informed that this base can work as a concealer when applied with Jane Iredale flocked sponge. It blends and applies easily and evenly. Can be built up to get medium coverage. Does not accentuate pores. Helps blur and cover minor imperfections. Conceals prominent scars, marks, and spots, a proper concealer needs to be used. The skin feels smooth and soft. It gives a semi-matte finish, but does not dry or irritate my sensitive skin.

My facial skin, especially my cheeks tend to redden easily in the sun, however, when I am wearing this base, my cheeks do not become red in the sun. I also tend to get breakouts easily in summers, but not with this base. Does not cause any acne problems in my case. This base is advisable for acne prone skin.

Lasting power is six to eight hours in cool weather and air-conditioned surroundings. However, in hot and humid weather, the lasting power is four to six hours. Also, when I am out in the sun, it tends to disappear from my nose. This base can be applied over a moisturizer for sheer to medium coverage and over a foundation for full coverage. I sometimes apply this PurePressed base over a moisturizer for a sheer makeup look. When I apply it over my Jane Iredale Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream, it helps set my makeup and prevents my BB cream from disappearing from my T-zone. This one is my all-time favorite PurePressed Mineral Foundation Base. I may try different brands, but this one will always remain on my repurchase list. Next time, I am planning to try natural shade.
