Today’s review is on Kareena Kapoor’s signature perfume 🙂 I have been meaning to review it since ages, but never got around to it because honestly, reviewing perfumes is so so tough! How do you explain a perfume? A perfume is not just the top notes, the base notes, etc. It’s also the story behind you picking it up and also about the feeling it invokes in you. How do you capture that?? Here is me – giving it a shot!

Product Details:
A bewitching, voluptuous eau de parfum. A hint of temptation in a sensual, daring fragrance of contrasts, to help you seduce and conquer. Bold, sweet rose to awaken the senses. A hypnotizing and voluptuous classic blend of Rose, Orchid and Vanilla for a more sensual, deeper interpretation of Classique. A fragrance that promises pleasures … brash and sweet, it makes people recognize you with their eyes closed.  Eau de Parfum (EDP) is made of rose, which seduce in the top notes together with rum essence. Sophisticated vanilla orchid and daffodils rule the heart, while sweet amber, sandalwood absolute, tonka bean and velvety Bourbon vanilla caresses in the base. Jacques Cavallier signs the perfume, designer of the bottle is Saint Gobain, while Jean Paul Gaultier personally designed the boxes. Classique Eau de Parfum was launched during the 1990’s.

Packaging:  The product comes packaged in a beautifully elegant transparent glass bottle in the shape of a mannequin dressed in a lacy attire. It doesn’t really have a cap, but a stopper which ensures that the nozzle doesn’t end up getting pressed by mistake. The bottle comes packaged in a golden metal box – a very unique packaging and the bottle itself is obviously eye-catching and distinctively different.

My Experience with Jean Paul Gaultier Le Classique Eau De Parfum Natural Spray:

This was also my signature perfume for a fairly long time and is still amongst my favorites, ever since I first came across it.

The story behind the perfume: We (hubby and me) were in Florence along with his business partner and family. We were scheduled to go for dinner to a winery. As I entered the car, I was hit by this perfume! Yes, the lady had over-done the application a bit. However, there was no denying that I was smitten with the notes. I inquired about the perfume – I had to have it! So, on the way back home, I picked this baby up from duty free.

The perfume is strong and extremely bold. There are no subtleties here. I feel this perfume defines a strong willed, yet sensuous woman. There are hints of sweetness in the perfume; however, the sweetness is not the asinine candy sweetness which can be very off putting. The stronger notes are of rose, vanilla and this slight woodiness – maybe from sandalwood. It has a bit of muskiness in it, especially the dry down.

The top notes are of rose combined with rum essence. Sophisticated vanilla orchid and daffodils rule the heart, while sweet amber, sandalwood absolute, tonka bean and velvety Bourbon vanilla form the base.

This is not a day wear perfume, it’s definitely for an evening out.  In terms of performance, it has a strong sillage, lasting about 7-7.5 hours. So, you are pretty set for the evening.

Cons of Jean Paul Gaultier Le Classique Eau De Parfum Natural Spray:

• The bottle isn’t travel friendly, I have never seen a smaller 30 ml version.

This one is an amazing fragrance, it has been my special fragrance for close to 8-9 years now. I have obviously repurchased it because this one is special for me. If you want something which invokes confidence and makes you feel special and sensuous – you must try it.  A perfume which was launched in the 1990s and still around, that says a lot about it, doesn’t it?
