Who doesn’t love a bold matte lip? Who doesn’t want their lipsticks to stay put for hours? Everyone does, right!! Everyone is obsessing over liquid lipsticks this year. Every brand has come up with their own versions of liquid lipstick. In this post, I am going to review one of the most popular brands known for their liquid lipsticks – Jeffree Star’s and their popular Velour liquid lipsticks. It’s a vegan and cruelty-free brand. Shade range is huge, from nudes to bold blue and black! I am gonna review the shade “Unicorn Blood” from the velour liquid lipstick range today.

My Experience with Jeffree Star Unicorn Blood Velour Liquid Lipstick:
This liquid lipstick comes in a transparent and high-end looking plastic tube. The limited edition packaging features yellow coloured cap with pink stars on it. The brand name is printed in pink fonts in the front. It has a clear wand and the cap is secure, in fact you can hear the click sound when you close the cap completely (ahhh! satisfying, isn’t it?! ;))
This liquid lipstick has a strong fruity minty scent which I personally don’t like, but the scent disappears after a while.
“Unicorn Blood” is a dark rusty red shade, I can’t wait to wear this shade in winters. It will suit a variety of skin tones. It is very pigmented and opaque. It’s quite liquid-y, so you have to have a steady hand while applying. The wand is very unique and has a bend which holds a sufficient amount of product to cover the entire lip in a single swipe.
It dries down completely matte and feels super lightweight on the lips and does not settle into fine lines of my lips. But since it’s a matte liquid lipstick, it will accentuate any dry patches, so make sure you exfoliate and moisturize your lips before applying.
On me, it lasted for about 6 to 7 hours without budging and it will start to fade inside if you eat oily food. You might notice a little transfer.
Since it’s a liquid lipstick, it does not tug on your lips and goes opaque in a single swipe. With oily food, it tends to fade away after a heavy mela. The texture is completely matte and long lasting. If you are daring enough, you can sport it to office too 😛

It is one of the most comfortable liquid lipsticks and is long lasting on the lips. It will definitely accentuate dry patches if you don’t exfoliate and moisturize your lips prior to application.
