My Experience with Jergens Skin Smoothing Gentle Exfoliating Moisturizer:

I got this moisturizer mainly for my mom, as she is in her 50s, and such cell renewing products work quite well. Also, I have used a body lotion from them in the past, and it was great. The packaging is just like other Jergens body lotions, it comes in a long elongated white plastic bottle, with a light blue flip cap. The lotion inside is quite thick and milky white in color, it has a slight floral fragrance, but does not linger around much. The consistency is thicker compared to other body lotions, but in spite of that it spreads very easily and gets absorbed very quickly.

This particular concept of exfoliating moisturizer for body, looked very new to me, and even I tried it for a few days mainly during the night, as I am using another lightening body lotion during the day for my tanned skin. My mom also loves it, her skin is not very dry, and this moisturizer hydrates it adequately without making it oily. It takes care of any dry patches and rough skin, making it very soft instantly. It does add a good sheen to skin making it look healthy and polished. The sunburn alert came as a total surprise, as it is not mentioned anywhere on the bottle, but only on the website. Although the part of mild exfoliate is too mild to notice much difference. Do not expect any skin exfoliation with this one. So, I think that is only an additional claim, but otherwise as a lightweight hydrating moisturizer, it works perfectly fine.

It keeps skin moisturized for very long, for more than 12 hours or until you wash it off. If you feel that your current moisturizer, does not keep skin moisturized for the long, then this product would be a good alternative. It is best suited for normal skin. It would not work during extreme winters, as it is not that moisturizing. It is good for other parts of the year, also during summers as it gets absorbed quickly. But because it contains AHA, it is not suitable for day time use, and only during the night.

Along with it, you need to use a body moisturizer with some SPF during the day, to protect skin from sun or else if used during the day, layer a sunscreen on top of it, but then it will become slightly heavy.  Overall, it is a great night time moisturizer, which keeps skin moisturized for long.

• Will not work for extremely dry skin in winters.
• Exfoliating claims are not true.
• Best suitable to use during night, as during daytime, a sunscreen has to be layered over it.
• Contains parabens.

Do I Recommend Jergens Skin Smoothing Gentle Exfoliating Moisturizer?

It is a good moisturizer, for night time, but I will certainly not repurchase this one, as I want something suitable for both day and night.
