Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Monoi Oil Review

Hola Amigos,

My super dry skin leads me to check out skin care items more often. I had wanted to try Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer ever since it was launched, but the huge 300 ml bottle kept me away from trying this one out as I was unsure if I would like the product or not. If I did not like it, 300 ml is a huge amount to use up. 😉 Also, considering my huge Bath and Body Works collection, any other body lotion addition would lead to my hubby kicking me out 😛 So, I was really glad when I spotted the travel-sized version of the moisturizer.  Not to forget, my preparations for our upcoming trip was a perfect excuse for picking it up. 😉 More on this wet moisturizer follows 🙂

Ingredients

My Experience with Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Monoi Oil:

Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer comes in an inverted bottle. The bottle is sky blue in color and has a flip top cap. Since mine is a smaller version, the moisturizer comes in an inverted tube with a flip top cap. The packaging has all the details printed on it.

Details at the back

Monoi oil is an infused perfume-oil made from soaking the petals of Tiare flowers in coconut oil. It is known to be rich in methyl salicylate which is a skin-soothing agent. Methyl salicylate is an emollient which penetrates the skin, re-hydrates, and shields it against external factors such as wind and cold. So, these harsh winters were the perfect time to test this moisturizer.

Wet moisturizer

I first used a drop of this moisturizer on my dry skin, just out of curiosity, and was not so happy. It does not seem that the moisturizer would provide hydration to my super dry skin. Also, it felt a bit tacky on dry skin. Then, finally, I gave it a try as per the instructions, on my wet skin, after the shower, and I was amazed, really! I applied it on my wet skin and pat it dry. It left my skin super soft and smooth and kept my skin moisturized for the whole day, yes whole day. 😀 The driest area of my body, i.e., my legs were also well hydrated with this moisturizer. I am impressed! I have been using it for a week now and definitely feel a difference in my skin, in a good way. 🙂

The moisturizer is off-white in color and has a very light and lovely fragrance. I don’t know how tiare flowers smell, but yes, the fragrance is flowery and has no trace of coconut oil in it. 🙂 It is not overpowering and you can easily layer products on top. The consistency is neither thick nor very runny, but somewhere in the middle. It wouldn’t slip off your wet palms 😉

Swatch

Since this moisturizer has to be applied on wet skin, very little is needed, as the instructions say. Also, we all know applying a moisturizer is easier on wet skin, so it really takes half the time that I usually take to apply a moisturizer after the shower, in the traditional way. Since it takes less time, it is a great product for girls who skip moisturizing their body due to time constrains. One more good thing about the product is that there is no need to rinse it off, so my shower area doesn’t get slippery. 🙂

Pros of Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Monoi Oil:

  • Sturdy packaging.
  • Contains moisture-rich monoi oil.
  • Light, flowery fragrance.
  • Only a little product is required per use.
  • Keeps my dry skin hydrated for the whole day.
  • Leaves my skin soft and supple.

Cons of Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Monoi Oil:

  • None for me.

IMBB Rating:
4.8/5
