My Experience with John Freida Frizz Ease Extra Strength Six Effects™ + Serum:
I have wavy hair and it is quite a task to handle in any season. Tropical or cold weather, my hair has no mood to listen to me! I was searching for a decent spray or a serum and John Freida comes to my rescue! This is my second purchase as I was quite satisfied with the results when I used a few months ago (It was around March/April). John Freida is very popular in hair care range, and it has launched many products under its ‘frizz ease’ range from shampoos and conditioners, serums and sprays, you have them and gratefully, this particular serum covers almost all the points.
The packaging is very different and intelligent; it comes in a 50 ml cylindrical tube equipped with a pump. The tube is fixed in a tubular bottle which makes the product look bigger and yes, it is leak proof. Earlier, I thought that the serum is in mauve colour, but no! It is transparent and the tube is in mauve to differentiate among other serums available under the brand. The serum is quite light, has gel-texture and doesn’t feel sticky when you run your fingers through the hair. In fact, the stickiness evaporates once you start using the product on your hair. It has a very fresh smell and lingers for a quite a long time.
The serum is designed to eliminate frizz, humidity and heat protection, smoothes, hydrates and tames your hair with added advantage of silk protein with added control. Whoa! Looks likes it is a magic potion as it comprises too many features! As it is heat protected, this is formulated to use with hair dryers and straighteners which is wonderful. I have shoulder length hair and I LOVE to keep my hair open; and here is the product which tames my hair throughout the day. I am not a big fan of styling my hair but definitely, I straighten my hair twice a week, attempting to keep frizz at bay. Because of the climate change, I always fail to keep my hair frizz free, but, after using this product, my complaints have rather reduced. I could actually see a good difference in my hair – this keeps my hair soft, disciplined and neat.
The serum is easy to apply – pump once or twice depending on your hair length and apply gently onto damp hair and use your hands to spread it evenly avoiding roots. Then style as desired. However, it’s very important to completely dry your hair, else it will turn little sticky. It says to apply on soaking wet hair but, I prefer to apply even without a hair wash as it does manage my hair.
All good points but, it is not silicone free as it has Cyclopentasiloxane which acts as a lubricant giving your hair a silky feeling. However, it is not good if used frequently as it causes breakage. Ouch! That hurts. (Anyway, almost all hair care products contains silicones, you just need to be a little careful). Never mind, if not used every day, this is a good point to create long lasting, smooth and polished look.
