John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Serum Thermal Protection Review

John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Serum Thermal Protection

John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Serum

While it is necessary to oil your hair before a shower and condition it during, it is also very necessary to use a leave-in conditioner or a hair serum after as well.

To understand this entire business better, I need you to hear a little bit about something I’ve learnt about hair. Hair fibres have a structure consisting of several layers, the outermost of which is the cuticle. The cuticle which consists of several layers of flat, thin cells laid out overlapping one another (like as roof tiles). When you give your hair a thorough wash, the cuticles sort-of open up, allowing you to rinse out the build-up of products and pollutants. In some cases, if stop your hair care regime right here, the oils from your scalp aren’t enough to smoothen out your cuticle and this leads to frizz and breaking.

When you apply conditioner after shampooing it strengthens the structure, holds moisture and helps in closing the cuticles. I hope you can picture this?

Hair cuticle

(Left) A perfect strand of hair.
(Right) A severely damaged strand due to excessive styling.

Now, you think to yourself, what does this have to do with my review and when does it start. Well ladies, precaution is key and to me, that is John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Serum.

Packaging:

It comes in a 50 ml bottle equipped with a pump. After several uses, I can say it is leak proof and convenient.

Ingredients:

Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Benzophenone-3, Polysilicone-15, Bis(C13-15 Alkoxy) PG-Amodimethicone, Phytantriol, Paraffinum Liquidum, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hydrolyzed Silk, Parfum, Butylphenyl Methylpropional.

Directions (as mentioned on website):

Apply to soaking wet hair. Use sparingly, dispensing a dime-size amount of serum into palm. Rub hands together and distribute evenly throughout hair. Avoid applying directly to roots. Use more or less depending on hair length and thickness. Can also be used on dry hair to smooth, shine and protect. Do not rinse out. Style as desired.

Note:  (I am a little puzzled as the bottle I use has directions that specify in ALL CAPS that I must use it on towel-dried hair, and the directions online say, also in ALL CAPS, that it must be applied to soaking wet hair).

My Experience with John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Serum:

My hair is naturally semi-straight and thin, and abundant. I use a little bit of this product after every time I wash my hair, before I brush it or blow dry it, and it makes a HUGE amazing difference. I take half a pump into my hand and rub my palms together vigorously till it warms up a little and then run my hands through my hair. I then take another half pump and cover the areas that I might have missed.

I always need to blow dry my hair because I rarely ever have to time to wait till it air dries. Also, I prefer the sleek, frizz free look after a good blow-out. The serum makes my hair so manageable, so I can brush the ends without pulling my scalp out and as it provides thermal protection, it combats the damage caused by my ancient hair-iron or barely alive blow-dryer and after ironing it out, my hair looks shiny and sleek rather than dry, coarse and fried. I can’t imagine the horror I have subjected to my hair before I picked this serum up. 😮

I get so many compliments on my hair and how healthy it looks and I have noticed a fewer split-ends since my last trim. You can say I have spent a fortune on protecting my hair from damage and pollution, and to have finally found something that makes my life a lot easier.

        1. Hope you feel better, Aruna. :highfive: Garam adrak ki chai is so comforting and helpful, as so is Orange juice. Vitamin C is a miracle for your immunity and vitality. 🙂
And agreeably it is worth the investment, looking at the bigger picture.

This is my first comment on this site .I have been following this blog for quite some time and i absolutely love it .
I had a question i have straight hair which goes limp a few hours after i wash it ,but i do feel that sometimes the tips look frizzy .So is it ok to use it .

  5. Sanya, I am going to cry my heart out !!!! :waaa: I never knew you get john freida products in india. I got the frizz ease conditioner when I had visited Berlin since it was very cheap. After using it I was so in love with it and ordered it online. Sadly in Kuwait if you order conditioners online they return it :waiting: . I tried to check in Dubai also . No hope. Jomol, please tell me the online site. And yes, John Freida hair product are the best for hair… Thank you for the review on the serum.

    1. I’ve used the Tame-it serum, and I think it’s pricey in comparison to other products out there that can do a equally good job. Also didn’t find it to nourish the ends as much as John Frieda or Frederic Fekkai (:inlove:) .

    1. Yes, the white transparent one is the Frizz-ease Original formula, and this one is the Thermal protection formula. I suppose I find the thermal one to be comparatively better and longer-lasting.
Thank you for your comment, Neha. 🙂

  6. AMAZING! :woot: :woot: :woot: Great review,Sanya! :thanks: so very much!
Now I’ll keep my eyes peeled for this miracle! 😐 😐

    1. Thank you, Jyo! :highfive: One great trick I use is to rinse my hair with cold water when I’m done showering. This helps seal the cuticle faster, reduce frizz and increase shine. Hope that helps. :))

      1. thnx for the tips Sanya. 🙂 i do follow the cold water trick after conditioning.it helps a lot bt still need some external help as my hair is really really dry 😥

  8. Nice review Sanya.. :waytogo:
I use Silk and Shine for hair to control frizziness and it works very well for me and much cheaper too.. but if i get a chance, ill try this one as well..

I’ve used Silk and Shine as well, but I found that it would make my hair pretty greasy, and with John Frieda my hair looks lively and clean between washes. Hope it works for you! 🙂
