John Frieda Frizz-Ease Smooth Start Hydrating Shampoo

Hey Everyone,

John Frieda Frizz Ease Smooth Start Hydrating Shampoo

This has turned into my favourite shampoo possibly EVER! I have heard a lot about John Frieda hair products and how they work really well, but all these years, I couldn’t find it in India, so I forgot about it. I have wavy, voluminous hair which gets frizzy very easily and it’s annoying. I have tried a whole host of different brands, but I didn’t get very great results from any of them, Dove being the only exception. I always envy girls with straight, silky hair because the slightest breeze and my hair becomes a frizzy, tangled nightmare! So, I was looking for something that would smoothen and soften my hair follicles.

So, the other day, I was shopping online and I found the John Frieda shampoo and conditioner both, so I ordered right away. I got it within 5 days in a nice little black box, which I now use for keeping all my accessories.

The shampoo is in a big inverted tube package – simple and neat. It smells really good, it has that salon kind of smell if you know what I mean, clean, not too overpowering and fresh. The shampoo itself is shiny white, but sort of translucent, and I read this tip somewhere that the more chemicals a shampoo has, the less transparent it will be. This one seems good compared to Sunsilk and others with their really scary bright colours.

The shampoo lathers very well – you just need a coin-sized amount to work through your hair and there’s tons of lather.

Here’s a look at the list of ingredients:

Ingredients

After I finish shampooing and I dry my hair, it feels amazing – it’s very soft and silky, and light, without the annoying wiry consistency it normally has. I had coloured my hair with Wella Kolestint (waste of money and time   the colour didn’t even show up), but after I started using this, so many of my colleagues said they could slightly see the dark brown showing through. So, it brings out the colour as well! One thing though, within 2 days, my scalp and hair get slightly greasy, which I don’t like. I have somewhat of an oily scalp, so this is a bit of a bother.

Pros of John Frieda Frizz-Ease Smooth Start Hydrating Shampoo:

  • Lives up to its claim of blocking frizz.
  • Makes hair noticeably soft and manageable.
  • Brings out shine, colour and lustre in the hair.
  • Lathers very easily.
  • Smells great.

Cons of John Frieda Frizz-Ease Smooth Start Hydrating Shampoo:

  • Contains parabens.
  • Expensive, that could be a grouse for some.
  • Needs to be used every two days or else hair gets greasy.

Would I Repurchase John Frieda Frizz-Ease Smooth Start Hydrating Shampoo?

Yes, but since right now I’m still trying to find my HG shampoo and conditioner, I’ll buy something else when this gets finished.

  3. John frieda shampoo has Sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) & Sodium laureth sulphate(SLES). Both sodium lauryl sulphate and sodium laureth sulphate are possibly the most dangerous of all ingredients in personal care products. Mostly used in hair conditioners, they hamper the quality of hair and restrict their growth; thus, leading to hair loss. SLS can also lead to cataracts when absorbed in the skin even when there is no direct contact with the eyes.
This is what I have heard. I was using it till now but not sure if I am gonna continue it since I am experiencing hairfall.
