My Experience with John Frieda Full Repair Full Body Conditioner:

I have been using this conditioner paired with the shampoo from the same line which is the John Frieda Full Repair Full Body Shampoo which I have reviewed earlier.  I wasn’t so pleased with the results when using this conditioner.  Let’s start first with the points that I do like about this product.

Firstly, the packaging is very good and practical. The bright red bottle is a squeeze tube which gives very controlled removal of product avoiding wastage. Though I would have definitely preferred a packaging with a flip top since the cap tends to slip from the hands. The texture of the conditioner is very light whipped consistency, feels very silky smooth when applied on hair and rinses out very well.

I do not feel it makes my hair greasy or leaves any residue behind. Being so lightweight in consistency, it does not weigh down my hair and hence it gives my fine hair much needed volume and a natural bounce. Hair feels incredibly lightweight and when styled after using this product, hair has a natural” wind in the hair” effect when you walk which can only be achieved if your hair has been weighed down by tonnes of products.

It also feels like hair is protected to some extent when styling, but I don’t think it does much in that department of actually repairing damaged hair. I don’t feel that it penetrates hair deep down to repair the damaged shafts.

Now over to the thing which I absolutely dislike about this product. My hair is on the dry side and the dryness seems to worsen in the winter months. Hence I need an incredibly rich conditioner which allows some moisture back in my hair. This is where this product fails. Being so lightweight in texture, it is not at all hydrating on my hair. Hair feels just as dry as it does before using any conditioner. Hence it has little to no effect at all. Also, I see no drastic effect on it controlling frizz which due to static during winter time is at its worst.

Also, I do not feel that it helps de-tangle my hair after I step out of the shower, which leads to some breakage of hair. I have used conditioners in the past which made the comb slip through my hair after I used them – namely my favorite Organix Moroccan Argan Oil/Creme Conditioner which is the best thing for dry hair.

Also, though it does have a very pleasant scent, that does not linger in the hair at all. I like my hair to have a little bit of scent at least on the day I wash, it just gives a good clean feeling, but this conditioner does not do it.

Overall, I think this conditioner may work for people who have normal/oily hair and desire a lightweight conditioner which does not weigh down hair and gives volume.  Those with dry hair, stay away from this.
