My Experience with John Frieda Touchable Memory Flexible Hold Hairspray:

back

I have always heard very great reviews about John Frieda products and great things come in small packages. When I saw the 75 ml spray cans, I picked them up. The product comes in a 75ml spray can with a peacock blue-green in colour and a transparent plastic cap and a white nozzle. The first thing I liked a lot is how sturdy and tight the cap is. So it is travel-friendly and the small can makes it easy to carry even in small bags.

The product is gellac- like and has a mild sticky texture. This can be a little irritating in the beginning or until you get used to it. Once you spray the product to the hair, it feels like a glue-oily kind of residue on the hair, but this is only temporary and fades away in a few seconds. The product has a light salon-like fresh fragrance but this is only when you apply and then it fades away quickly.

I have natural waves and as the day progresses, with a lot of static electricity, my hair becomes poker straight and the bouncy waves turn into thin, limp and straight hair. I applied the spray and my hair strands stuck to each other and the waves just sat like that. There was very light movement and the texture remained natural. Light winds didn’t spoil my hairstyle, but stronger winds did make my hair fly away. But, later, I could place them just the way they were.

The hold hairspray holds the hairstyle for approx. a day. I do not want to go by its claim of 72 hours as it is ridiculous and it is false. The only drawback I had with the hair spray is that when I touched the hair, which had the hair spray on, it felt a little rough. But, combing fixed my hair. It could be that the hairspray holds the hair strands. I have styled my hair into messy poofs/buns/braids and the hairspray was just perfect in keeping the hair held in place and also in giving it a natural texture.

Like the name indicates, it is a flexible spray which means that it is mainly used to fix the light soft beachy curls you have made. It can also be used to keep your bangs in place. Heavier hairstyles for wedding/parties etc need a stronger hold spray but this goes good for the daily needs. As it is enriched in Keratin, I hope there would be no harm caused to my hair but I will keep you updated on the long run. So, summing up:

Pros of John Frieda Touchable Memory Flexible Hold Hairspray:

• Travel friendly.
• Touch up is easy.
• Binds the hair giving it a flexible movement yet holding the style.
• Makes the hair look natural.
• Can be used to tame flyaways, bangs, soft curls.
• Keratin and thus, strengthens the hair.
• Hairstyles can be held in place for almost a day.

Cons of John Frieda Touchable Memory Flexible Hold Hairspray:

• Not suitable for heavier hairstyles.
•  72 hours claim is false.

Will I Repurchase John Frieda Touchable Memory Flexible Hold Hairspray?
Yes! This is one of the best products I have used to keep my hair in place!
