Johnson's 3 in 1 Gentle Exfoliating Facial Wash

Product Description:

Cleanses, Exfoliates, Removes impurities.

I just picked it from my sister’s kit when she had come because the whole package seemed so nice, Johnson’s reminding me off baby talc fragrance, the exfoliating face wash concept, and the white pearly look, but I had to change my opinion on it later though.  I know most of you can get a positive vibe out of the pictures itself considering Johnson’s means the sweet baby talc fragrance that we relate to so many memories in our life, because we do associate memories with fragrances.

I love the concepts of exfoliating face washes as I have oily skin and I do have an urge to scrub on days I am full of grime and sweat, which is hmm like every day 😛 So, when in Chennai summers, you tend to sweat more there by accumulating grease in your pores. The makeup we wear adds to the plight of blackheads due to blocked pores and there you are bam! Breakout even before you could know. That’s why, when I am clear and in the no-pimples phase, I do my best to keep blocked pores away and that is by using mild scrubs every now and then.  To let you know, I have totally given up on non-rounded, hard, abrasive walnut and apricot scrubs, keep them for your feet and elbows I suggest. Always use rounded and small scrub granules which will not harm your skin cell’s growth making you lesser guilty off over scrubbing.

This is surely one such face wash cum scrub that I thought I would love, but here are the many reasons I don’t like it. The scrub is perfect, mild, rounded with white dense granules which might have done a perfect job at scrubbing had it not been the slimy texture of this face wash. Like you can see the in the picture, the granules are nice, soft, dense and not abrasive, but the base they are in is very slimy.\

Another reason for my dislike of this wash is that the slimy face wash doesn’t lather at all. It feels slimy and not even creamy and leaves a layer of something with the brackish Chennai water, I am sure its not so bad in the non-salty water like here, but still the texture is a psychological barrier to my pores.  I just feel it would eventually leave me with blocked pores.

Another major reason with this one is that it smells of jasmine (chameli).  I am not fond of jasmine fragrance one bit and this one is more like a “chemically jasmine” smell.  I mean whatever happened to the sweet fragrance we associate Johnson with. I was hoping for so many things but got none!

The after effect, I average nothing noticeable, but yes it did leave my skin cleaner and a little brighter and no trace of dryness or flaky skin even in Himachal’s weather. So, I do love the kind of scrubbing it gives me, but the slimy texture is something non of us oilies will like!

Last Word on Johnson’s 3 in 1 Gentle Exfoliating Facial Wash:

Might work for dry skin if you like jasmine smell. I do like the scrub it has but the face wash doesn’t work for me in the brackish Chennai water or regular Himachal water. I am not so happy with this one I am afraid!

  1. i used to love J&J products… but now try to only use products without sulphates and parabens and SLS which J&J uses (which is dissapoitning since it makes baby products)….
