Hi Ladies,

I will be reviewing the Johnson’s Daily Essentials Oil Balancing Gel wash today. I have combination skin with my T-zone being shiny and oily most of the times and more so during that time of the month. I always prefer to use face washes designed for combination skin. I had picked this gel wash some time back and as you can see from the pictures, it’s almost coming to an end. So, here is my review about it.

What the Company/Product Claims?

If your skin tends to be shiny, slightly oily in places – sometimes even with enlarged pores then this is the product for you. All products within our Combination Skin range is now enriched with a blend of skin loving minerals and vitamins – specifically tailored to care for combination skin.

The oil Balancing Gel wash gently lifts away impurities whilst caring for combination skin with skin loving minerals known to revitalise and zinc known for its oil balancing properties

Ingredients:

Aqua, betaine, sodium laureth sulphate, glycerin, coco-glucoside, magnesium aspartate, zinc gluconate, copper gluconate, mannitol, cellulose, citric acid, sodium benzoate and many others.

My Take on the Product:

I have been using this every day for quite a long time now and it works :). It cleans my skin thoroughly. All the shine and greasiness from the T-zone is gone and it doesn’t dry out the other areas. If you look at the pictures, you can see tiny pink-coloured particles. You cannot call them as scrub particles, but they gradually melt away on lathering and massaging onto the face. The fragrance is pleasant and it leaves my skin clean and soft.

Pros:

– Dermatologically tested, so its suitable for sensitive skin as well.
– Works well by reducing the shine and greasiness.

Cons:

The tube, the lid is so useless. As the product is getting used up and the quantity inside reduces, if you keep the tube upright in the shower cabinet, then water tends to get inside the lid area. It does go into the tube, but gets filled in the lid section. This is damn irritating. Never seen such a bad tube design. I am not sure if I got a bad piece or if all tubes are like this. I have used so many other face washes in tubes, but never encountered this problem with any of them.

Final Take:

I will give it 3 out of 5. Works fine on combination skin. However, if you have dry skin, you may feel that it tends to leave your skin drier after use and you will need to apply a moisturiser, but then again, this is specifically made for people with combination skin. I hate the tube design, so even though the gel wash worked for me, I will not be buying this again as I am fed up with cleaning the tube and draining out the water from the lid area.
