Johnson’s pH 5.5 Nourishing Body Wash Review

Johnson’s pH 5.5 Nourishing Body Wash

Hey everybody,

How are you all? My dearest Marks and Spencer rose body wash got over. So I had to buy a new one. After smelling over a dozen body washes, I finally laid my hands on this Johnson’s body wash. No, it is not Johnson’s baby body wash, it is just Johnson’s body-wash intended to be used by women and not kids. 😛 Most of us girls love the typical Johnson’s fragrance and it was the major reason why I bought this one. Read on to know more about it.

My experience with Johnson’s pH 5.5 Nourishing Body Wash:

It comes in an XL size sturdy plastic bottle which is almost opaque but you can still see the liquid level through it. It has a baby pink colored pump dispenser since it is a large container. The body wash is in a white thick liquid form, it is neither thick creamy nor runny in consistency. It has the same sweet powdery fragrance as the Johnson’s soap. I do not like such fragrances in body sprays or perfumes, but in body washes, I like it.

For the usage I put on a very small amount of liquid on my loofah and it lathers really well, like I do not have to keep taking it again on the loofah for the full body wash, you just have to pump once and it works very well. Since it is soap free, I thought it would not lather that well, but it did. If you pump more than twice and then use, you will need a long time to take it off your body. You know that creamy slippery feeling that you have when you take more of the liquid on your loofah. Coming to the staying power- it stays for hardly an hour after bath. When I was sniffing the various body washes at the store, the shopkeeper told me “Ma’am even if you buy a body wash worth rupees 1 lakh, the fragrance would still be there for the same one hour”. I think he was right. None of the body wash’s stayed more than that in my experience. So you just have to have a refreshing feel while bathing, that is it.

After bath I do not need any body lotion in summers, it makes your skin feel softer on its own. Just hands, elbows and feet need that extra care.

As I told that it takes very less amount for a single bath, and it is a huge container, it would last me a long time. So overall, I like it really well.

Pros of Johnson’s pH 5.5 Nourishing Body Wash:

• It is a huge sturdy bottle.
• It smells awesome.
• It lathers really well.
• The bottle would go a long way.
• The fragrance lingers on even after the bath.
• It moisturises just apt for summers.
• Decently priced.

Cons of Johnson’s pH 5.5 Nourishing Body Wash:

• Availability may be a problem.
• This isn’t travel friendly at all.
• Paraben and SLS in ingredients list.

Repurchase? I think I like to buy different fragrances each time I finish 1 bottle. So repurchasing would not be instant, may be after some time I would repurchase it.

Recommendation: Yes definitely. It is mild, soap free, still lathers very well, good fragrance and decently priced.

IMBB rating: 4.5/5 (-0.5 for paraben and SLS)

Until next time, take care!

  2. I once bought it and used it for my baby too, pretty gentle and especially gentle on the eyes. It was quite a long time before I realized this is not for kids :P, but it suited my son’s skin very well.
