I am an online shopping addict.  I will order anything to quench my thirst for online shopping, even things I probably will never use. It is like a disease. Week after week of things arriving in packages, some pretty, the others not so much, instantly unwrapped, poked around inquisitively and thrown in a mound that keeps growing in size even as we speak. So, I dug into that mound of things, my eyes tightly shut, and Jolen Whitening Toner was what I found in my hand and this is what I will be reviewing for you today.

My Experience with Jolen Whitening Toner:

The toner comes in a white bottle with a screw on cap, the kind that can be pressed on the top to release an opening. It is an absolutely flimsy bottle. The toner keeps spilling even when the cap is screwed on tightly. Nearly half the toner from my bottle got spilled away. Coming to the toner itself, the moment I first poured out a couple of drops of the toner onto my palms, I became aware of a very intense smell of rose water, the cheap ones. The smell was sweet, very sweet almost cloying. My nose was almost paralyzed.

The toner is vivid bright pink in colour. Even from outside of the bottle, you can almost guess what the colour of the product would be. Then, as I started spreading it on my face, I realized it was sticky, very sticky, almost as if it was sugar syrup that was being spread on my face and not a toner. But still, I reserved judgement; some products do turn out to be good in spite of the initial experience.  I waited for it to dry. I waited and waited but I never felt that cooling sensation that you feel when fluid dries off your face. If anything, the toner had got even stickier. It was a weird sensation, so, I rushed in front the mirror. And, I was flabbergasted by what I saw. My face looked like it had been drenched in some oily concoction of shady origin. I had to wash it off to get rid of the weird sticky feeling. It does not remove excess oil as the description claims. If anything, it makes skin oily, and the mother of all horrors, it broke me out. Yup, that’s what happened ladies. A toner broke me out. Face washes, creams, foundations, makeup have broken me out earlier but never a toner. That honour goes to Jolen Whitening Toner. Take my word ladies, if you are enticed by the whitening claims, there are several other whitening products in the market that you could try. Stay away from this one.

• The toner tends to get sticky.
• The smell is cloying.
• Cheap packaging. The toner keeps spilling no matter how and where you store it.
• Broke me out.

Will I Repurchase Jolen Whitening Toner?

No, I will probably run in the opposite direction when I locate it in shops.
