Today, I am reviewing Josie Maran 100 percent Pure Argan Oil Light. After reading the review on the Josie Maran Argan Oil in the original formula on IMBB, I went ahead and tried the same. I liked it but it was a little greasy for my oily skin, so I did my research and found out that the same brand does have a lighter version of the argan oil for us oily skin ladies. So, let us see if this one compares to the original formula.
This legendary 100% Pure Argan Oil is for those of you who love what argan oil does for your chapped skin, hair, and fine lines, and want a lighter touch for those sticky situations or humid summer days. Fighting oil with oil? It works! Argan Oil Light absorbs even faster than the original and it actually decreases sebum production with repeated use (sounds crazy but it is true). Get a semi-matte, radiant finish, no matter how oily your skin, and toss the blotting papers. This stuff is no lightweight when it comes to doing everything my original 100% Pure Argan Oil does: hydrating, balancing, repairing, replenishing. It’s just a shade less rich, for quicksilver absorption and a whisper-light feel. It is formulated without Parabens, sulfates and phthalates.
$14 for 0.5 oz, $48 for 1.7 oz.
It is packaged in a tinted brown glass bottle with a dropper. I got the smaller bottle to try the product which I find handy to carry around in my purse if I feel the need to tame my flyaways on the go. The cap closes tightly; I have not had any spillage.
My Experience with Josie Maran 100 percent Pure Argan Oil Light:
Due to my oily and acne-prone skin, I am compelled to use a lot of anti-acne products on my face. Regular usage of such products strips the skin off all oil, hence my skin has dark pigmentation, dry and flaky patches. So, I wanted to try the miracle argan oil aka liquid gold. I tried the Josie Maran Argan Oil Original Formula. Although I loved the results with it, but I did not like how greasy it left my skin. After researching, I bought the lighter version and I am glad I made this change. Now, I can enjoy the same benefits without being an oily mess. I use the argan oil light in a small amount every day and night after using my vitamin C serum.
It gets absorbed in to the skin quickly, without leaving any sticky residue. I have been using it for the past two weeks and can see positive results already. First of all, I don’t wake up as a grease monkey any more; this “fighting oil with oil” thing is actually working well for my skin. This provides good hydration and repairs my skin in the night and I start my day with silky smooth skin that glows in the morning. This oil is definitely healing my skin as I can see the uneven skin tone and flakiness caused by anti-acne medication to be getting a lot better.
It also provides a perfect base for applying makeup. After applying it, I wait for five minutes for the oil to sink in and then apply my makeup. It gives a beautiful luminous finish even with my matte foundation which otherwise tends to look quite flat.
Argan oil has helped me a lot this snowy winter by giving me manageable hair. Because of the cold and dry air outside, my hair gets so static, but thanks to this oil, it eliminates my static clingy hair problem, without weighing my hair down. Also, the hot showers that we enjoy during the winters, wash away the oils that bind the hair cuticle together causing hair to be frizzy and break easily, applying argan oil to the ends after my shower seems to be of great help. As of now, I am using my left over original formula for my hair and have reserved the lighter version exclusively for my face. One thing I do not like about this oil is the smell, it smells like cooking oil, but I can deal with it as it goes away in some time and also I know there is no additional fragrance added to the formula (as pure argan oil is supposed to smell bad).
Coming to its anti-aging abilities, it is too early for me to comment as I don’t believe any product can reduce any fine lines or wrinkles in 2 weeks, but I am hopeful it will help with further use.
