Hi beautifuls 🙂
A very happy and blissful new year to all of you ahead, wish all of you stay happy and blessed this year! How was your year end bash gals? Mine was great, but as new year started, I got stuck with my past and confined myself to my own worries and pain which has nothing to do with my future, but you know how we give up some times, but I always feel so blessed to have Team IMBB message reminder, I highly appreciate and thank you team IMBB (Rati, Jomol & Neha :)) Your reminder really made my day and I started my day with fresh hopes, dreams for a better life! Anyway, now I really want to shed all negative thoughts of pathetic 2013 and let me and all sweet people around me feel the same positivity with each passing day of 2014. I would like to start my fresh day with my favorite brand today, i.e., Josie Maran Argan Oil Hair Serum. Please read on further to know about same 🙂
$14.00 for 0.5 Fl oz, $ 30.00 for 2.0 Fl Oz and $ 48 for 4.0 fl oz, I picked the smallest of all 😛
- Argan Oil: aids in hair growth and Restores elasticity.
- Jojoba Oil: Moisturizes and Strengthens hair.
- Avocado Oil: Nourishes hair and scalp.
- Vitamin E: Helps to keep hair young and shiny.
Cyclomethicone (and) Dimethicone, Phenyl Trimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Organic Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Geranium Maculatum (Geranium) Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate), Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol (and) Phenoxyethanol (and) Hexylene Glycol.
Its 100% Pure Argan Oil to the rescue again, in super-concentrated amounts for super-rejuvenation and hair health. Hair loves this stuff as much as skin does, and soaks up the same conditioning and repairing benefits. With Jojoba Oil, Avocado Oil and Vitamin E, it’s a powerhouse of polish. No need for synthetic fragrances when you have got bergamot and geranium oils. No dyes in this crystal-clear oil, and no drying alcohol.
The packaging is simple with a dark glass bottle and pump dispenser opening safe inside transparent plastic cap. I do not know why this packaging reminds me of cough syrups 😛 My kid is always behind these small bottles hence I fear they are slightly unsafe for kids at home as they are made of breakable glass. It smells strongly of geranium oil and bergamot notes while rubbing on palms which fades after a few minutes of applying this serum in the hair.
My Experience with Josie Maran Argan Oil Hair Serum:
Well, anything infused with argan oil or made up of argan oil always attracts my attention anyhow. I always fascinated about JM products ever since I tried a few of their samples. JM’s argan oil is a big hit for me and after getting a wonderful treat of argan oil, I picked up this hair serum for a special treat for my hair. This serum is kind of runny in nature and whitish transparent liquid gel type in nature. As soon as I open the cap, a strong bergamot and geranium smell soothes my senses, I feel like applying it directly on my hair for a great head massage and spa.
Initially, I bought it for treating my split ends, but soon it became my styling gel. Well, I do not style my hair much, just wear it open or sometimes braid it and must say, this gel keeps that chip chip feeling at bay. Believe it or not, I am really a short tempered gal and my mum says short tempered people often suffer from frizzy and tangled hair, which is so true in my case. My hair is slightly oily yet they look frizzy and tangled up every single day. I cannot imagine combing my hair without oil, but since oil is not a key solution every time, hence this gel comes to my rescue.
I just rub this gel at problem areas and my comb slides easily through tangles, honestly speaking. Moreover, I cannot notice even a single hair strand tangled or stuck together. My hair feel as light as they are supposed to be after shampoo, and yes, I do have split ends which does not let my hair grow long. I also trim them periodically, but still, I can notice these split ends every month. This gel helped me in delaying onset of split ends though not completely, but up to some extent, it reduced the number too. I am really impressed to see how this gel maintains natural shine, volume and health of hair.
It never weighs down hair even if I use it like oil on my scalp. I believe ever since I started using this serum, my hair became more shiny, healthy and tangle free thankfully. However, my short temper is as it is 😛 The best thing is that I can just set my hair free as a style without feeling it is weighing down or with the oily feeling. Must say, it is an all rounder product. I used this serum on my hubby’s color treated hair and it worked exactly in the same way as on my hair. His hair is thick, coarse due to color treatment, but this gel helped in softening his hair strands and also added shine which was never seen before 😛 Now, his hair looks naturally shiny and healthy even after color treatment.
Guys are more concerned about chip chip you know, he always uses this serum to style his hair. Must say, by the time he comes home after almost 12 hours, his hair looks healthy and shiny. The only bothering fact is it that its not totally natural, it does contain chemicals, but we can live with it; however, it cannot replace any natural oil benefits overall, I hope you are getting me. I would highly recommend it gals 🙂
Let’s sum up the pros and cons:
Pros of Josie Maran Argan Oil Hair Serum:
- An anti-frizz treatment that creates exceptional shine.
- Alcohol-free serum which gives long, healthy, shiny hair.
- Formulated without parabens, synthetic fragrances, dyes, triclosans, GMOS, phthalates and sulfates.
- A small drop goes long way to lubricate and detangle every single hair strand.
- It does not weigh down hair even after applying a generous amount on hair unlike other hair oils.’
- It does not accentuate color-treated hair issues other than making them more silky and soft.
- It does treat split ends, though not completely.
- It works well on any type of hair and scalp, giving long-term healthy shine which is well visible on every detangled hair strand.
- Soothing sensational bergamot and geranium notes to give hair spa like feel while massaging on scalp.
- It is available in 3 sizes as per affordability.
Cons of Josie Maran Argan Oil Hair Serum:
- It cannot be replaced with pure argan oil as a matter of fact.
- It does have chemicals.
- I fear the glass bottle might break, hence needs extra care which is never expected from a messy mum like me 😛
I would say it is a must try for those who love styling their hair without that chip chip feel, like my hubby and myself 😛 I am used to applying oil every single day on my hair, hence this serum can serve me best for night out or party days. However, I feel nothing can beat argan oil which is more natural and nourishes hair from within unlike any serum, but still, I would love to purchase it again and again for styling and for soft and shiny feel which it imparts from day one of using it on hair and also for my tangled and frizzy hair which demands oil every day. If you suffer from tangled hairs and frizzness, then this serum is a must try for you gals!
Gals, I am attaching a pic of mine, where I used this hair serum as hair oil. See, it looks so natural and frizz free though high winds still affect them 🙂
