Josie Maran Bear Naked Nail Wipes 3 in 1 Polish Remover, Cuticle and Nail Treatment Review

Hope all of you are enjoying 2015 well.  I am quite excited to share this product from Josie Maran.  I love Josie Maran products because they also support charity in one way or other, just like TBS. This particular nail product will donate a portion of its sale to Polar Bear SOS initiative under National Research Defense Council. However, I am not much impressed with this nail product and might like to directly donate money for polar bear SOS initiative rather than buying this product. So, let’s start with this review on Josie Maran Bear Naked Nail Wipes review today.

Price:

$9 for 20 wipes and $16 for 40 wipes in lavender and grapefruit scent while $6 for 8 bear naked wipes excluding shipping and taxes.

Product Description:

Conveniently packaged in a portable container, these three-in-one nail wipes remove nail polish, repair dry cuticles, and promote healthy nails naturally. Acetone free and grapefruit-scented, Bear Naked Nail Wipes are infused with organic Argan oil to moisturize cuticles and support nail growth.  With their adorable little faces and big floppy paws, polar bears are irresistible. We believe in being part of the solution, so we are donating a portion of every sale to the Polar Bear SOS initiative, a project of the National Resources Defense Council.

Packaging:

These thin and round nail wipes come in a plastic tub packaging; nothing fancy though I personally prefer individually wrapped wipes over one common pile of wipes together. It does have a mild lavender smell which is not bothering thankfully. Overall, the packaging seem travel friendly and user friendly, though I am happier with Sephora nail wipes packaging.

My Experience with Josie Maran Bear Naked Nail Wipes 3 in 1 Polish Remover, Cuticle and Nail Treatment:

Well, I am not very happy with this purchase for certain reasons. Firstly, because all the 20 wipes are piled up over one another, which makes it difficult to pick just one wipe.  Plus they are too small to work on more than 5 fingers at a time. The wipes seem more oily which often creates a mess when I am working on the nails as my nail polish transfers to the skin with that oily, greasy feel which takes hours to absorb, though I wash it off rather than rubbing on my nail or cuticles.  I guess that oil is the nourishing cuticle oil that they claim, but it only works for me when I am in the cozy comfort of my home, not outside while travelling.

Oh yes, I cannot think of using these wipes while travelling because they are too small to squeaky clean my nails plus that oily/greasy feel needs to either be washed or rubbed off immediately, otherwise it makes my hands slippery which in turn makes it difficult for me to work further.

Moreover, comparing it to my previous Sephora nail wipes, I feel I am more comfortable using Sephora while travelling and in a hurry, even though they dry out fast, but they clean up my nails with no greasy residue while these Josie Maran wipes leave oily residue which is much bothering than my actual nail polish. I simply hate that oily feel on my hands which takes hours to get absorbed into my skin resulting in sweaty hands.

I feel Sephora nail wipes clean faster without getting messy.  In fact, they make my nails feel better where as these Josie Maran wipes are not apt while traveling as I might need a tissue or water bottle handy to clean up post usage. Overall, I am not very pleased and convinced to get JM wipes again, but still I would like to recommend it to gals who a non-acetone nail polish remover for occasional use, but not during travel or rush hours. I would anytime pick Sephora wipes over these considering both are equally pricey, but Sephora works way better than the latter.

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of Josie Maran Bear Naked Nail Wipes 3 in 1 Polish Remover, Cuticle and Nail Treatment:

• Acetone-free nail polish remover wipes infused with the goodness of argan oil to nourish nail and cuticles.
• Does help in removing nail polish stains.
• Nourishing oil certainly helps in keeping the nails and cuticles shiny soft.
• Wipes are infused with oil and hence they don’t get dry up easily.
• User friendly and travel-friendly packaging.

Cons of Josie Maran Bear Naked Nail Wipes 3 in 1 Polish Remover, Cuticle and Nail Treatment:

• One wipe is never enough to completely remove nail polish from all 10 finger nails at a time.
• The round wipes are too oily, often makes hands slippery.
• The oily and greasy wipes often messes the nail polish.
• The oily residue takes hours to vanish.
• I personally prefer individually wrapped wipes for hygienic purpose and ease of use.

As mentioned before, I am not convinced to get them again after finishing this current lot.  I feel they are pricey since we can get other non-acetone products in the market at a much cheaper price.  Still if you want a 3-in-one nail product.
